सिक्तमार्गं संस्कृतं च (siktamārgaṃ saṃskṛtaṃ ca) — the roads sprinkled and made cleanthe roads sprinkled and made clean·शोभितं परमर्द्धिभिः (śobhitaṃ paramarddhibhiḥ) — adorned with the greatest splendouradorned with the greatest splendour·द्वारि द्वारि च रम्भादि (dvāri dvāri ca rambhādi) — at every gateway, plantain-trees and the likeat every gateway, plantain-trees and the like·मङ्गलं द्रव्यसंयुतम् (maṅgalaṃ dravyasaṃyutam) — together with auspicious articlestogether with auspicious articles

मालतीमाल्यसंयुक्तं (mālatīmālyasaṃyuktaṃ) — joined with garlands of jasminejoined with garlands of jasmine·लसत्तोरणसुप्रभम् (lasattoraṇasuprabham) — radiant with gleaming festoonsradiant with gleaming festoons·शोभितं मङ्गलद्रव्यैः (śobhitaṃ maṅgaladravyaiḥ) — made beautiful with auspicious articlesmade beautiful with auspicious articles·चतुर्दिक्षु स्थितैः शुभैः (caturdikṣu sthitaiḥ śubhaiḥ) — auspicious ones placed on all four sidesauspicious ones placed on all four sides

अयुतेन सुरर्षे तत् (ayutena surarṣe tat) — by ten thousand, O sage among gods, thatby ten thousand, O sage among gods, that·योजनानां च विस्तृतम् (yojanānāṃ ca vistṛtam) — was extended in yojanaswas extended in yojanas·अनेकलक्षणोपेतं (anekalakṣaṇopetaṃ) — endowed with countless featuresendowed with countless features·नानाश्चर्यसमन्वितम् (nānāścaryasamanvitam) — filled with manifold wondersfilled with manifold wonders

स्थावरं जङ्गमं सर्वं (sthāvaraṃ jaṅgamaṃ sarvaṃ) — everything, still and movingeverything, still and moving·सदृशं तैर्मनोहरम् (sadṛśaṃ tairmanoharam) — alike in beauty by those figuresalike in beauty by those figures·सर्वतोऽद्भुतसर्वस्वं (sarvato'dbhutasarvasvaṃ) — on every side wholly wondrouson every side wholly wondrous·नानावस्तुचमत्कृतम् (nānāvastucamatkṛtam) — made astonishing by manifold objectsmade astonishing by manifold objects

जङ्गमं विजितं तत्र (jaṅgamaṃ vijitaṃ tatra) — the moving there was surpassedthe moving there was surpassed·स्थावरेण विशेषतः (sthāvareṇa viśeṣataḥ) — especially by the stillespecially by the still·जङ्गमेन च तत्रासीत् (jaṅgamena ca tatrāsīt) — and there, by the movingand there, by the moving·जितं स्थावरमेव हि (jitaṃ sthāvarameva hi) — the still, too, was indeed surpassedthe still, too, was indeed surpassed

क्वचित्स्त्रियः कृत्रिमाश्च (kvacitstriyaḥ kṛtrimāśca) — here artificial womenhere artificial women·नृत्यन्त्यः पुरुषैस्सह (nṛtyantyaḥ puruṣaissaha) — dancing together with mendancing together with men·मोहयन्त्यो जनान्सर्वान् (mohayantyo janānsarvān) — deluding all who beheld themdeluding all who beheld them·पश्यन्त्यः कृत्रिमास्तथा (paśyantyaḥ kṛtrimāstathā) — though they too, gazing, were artificialthough they too, gazing, were artificial

द्वारि स्थिता महालक्ष्मीः (dvāri sthitā mahālakṣmīḥ) — at the gate stood Mahālakṣmīat the gate stood Mahālakṣmī·कृत्रिमा रचिताद्भुता (kṛtrimā racitādbhutā) — an artificial, wondrously fashioned onean artificial, wondrously fashioned one·सर्वलक्षणसंयुक्ता (sarvalakṣaṇasaṃyuktā) — endowed with every auspicious markendowed with every auspicious mark·आगता साक्षात्पयोर्णवात् (āgatā sākṣātpayorṇavāt) — as if she had come in person from the ocean of milkas if she had come in person from the ocean of milk

गजाश्चालङ्कृता ह्यासन् (gajāścālaṅkṛtā hyāsan) — and there were adorned elephantsand there were adorned elephants·कृत्रिमा अकृतोपमाः (kṛtrimā akṛtopamāḥ) — artificial ones, unmatched in appearanceartificial ones, unmatched in appearance·तथाश्वाः सादिभिश्चैव (tathāśvāḥ sādibhiścaiva) — likewise horses with their riderslikewise horses with their riders·गजाश्च गजसादिभिः (gajāśca gajasādibhiḥ) — and elephants with their mahoutsand elephants with their mahouts

रथा रथिभिराकृष्टा (rathā rathibhirākṛṣṭā) — chariots drawn along by charioteerschariots drawn along by charioteers·महाश्चर्यसमन्विताः (mahāścaryasamanvitāḥ) — filled with great wonderfilled with great wonder·वाहनानि तथान्यानि (vāhanāni tathānyāni) — and other vehicles besidesand other vehicles besides·पत्तयः कृत्रिमास्तथा (pattayaḥ kṛtrimāstathā) — and artificial foot-soldiers as welland artificial foot-soldiers as well

एवं विमोहनार्थं तु (evaṃ vimohanārthaṃ tu) — thus, for the sake of bewilderingthus, for the sake of bewildering·कृतं वै विश्वकर्मणा (kṛtaṃ vai viśvakarmaṇā) — all this was made by Viśvakarmāall this was made by Viśvakarmā·देवानां च मुनीनां च (devānāṃ ca munīnāṃ ca) — of the gods and of the sagesof the gods and of the sages·तेन प्रीतात्मना मुने (tena prītātmanā mune) — by him, his heart full of delight, O sageby him, his heart full of delight, O sage

तस्योपरि महादिव्यं (tasyopari mahādivyaṃ) — above it, a great and divineabove it, a great and divine·पुष्पकं रत्नभूषितम् (puṣpakaṃ ratnabhūṣitam) — Puṣpaka [chariot] adorned with gemsPuṣpaka [chariot] adorned with gems·राजितं पल्लवैः शुभ्रैः (rājitaṃ pallavaiḥ śubhraiḥ) — resplendent with pure sprigs of leavesresplendent with pure sprigs of leaves·चामरैश्च सुशोभितम् (cāmaraiśca suśobhitam) — and made beautiful with chowriesand made beautiful with chowries

वामपार्श्वे गजौ द्वौ च (vāmapārśve gajau dvau ca) — on the left side, two elephantson the left side, two elephants·शुद्धकाश्मीरसन्निभौ (śuddhakāśmīrasannibhau) — resembling pure saffronresembling pure saffron·चतुर्दन्तौ षष्टिवर्षौ (caturdantau ṣaṣṭivarṣau) — four-tusked, sixty years oldfour-tusked, sixty years old·भेदमानौ महाप्रभौ (bhedamānau mahāprabhau) — of great splendour, seeming to charge each otherof great splendour, seeming to charge each other

तथैवार्कनिभौ तेन (tathaivārkanibhau tena) — likewise, resembling the sun, by himlikewise, resembling the sun, by him·कृतौ चाश्वौ महाप्रभौ (kṛtau cāśvau mahāprabhau) — two horses of great splendour were madetwo horses of great splendour were made·चामरालंकृतौ दिव्यौ (cāmarālaṃkṛtau divyau) — divine, adorned with chowriesdivine, adorned with chowries·दिव्यालङ्कारभूषितौ (divyālaṅkārabhūṣitau) — and decked with divine ornamentsand decked with divine ornaments

दंशिता वररत्नाढ्या (daṃśitā vararatnāḍhyā) — clad in armour, rich with the finest gemsclad in armour, rich with the finest gems·लोकपालास्तथैव च (lokapālāstathaiva ca) — and likewise the guardians of the quartersand likewise the guardians of the quarters·सर्वे देवा यथार्थं वै (sarve devā yathārthaṃ vai) — all the gods, truly to their formall the gods, truly to their form·कृता वै विश्वकर्मणा (kṛtā vai viśvakarmaṇā) — were fashioned by Viśvakarmāwere fashioned by Viśvakarmā

तथा हि ऋषयः सर्वे (tathā hi ṛṣayaḥ sarve) — and so too all the sagesand so too all the sages·भृग्वाद्याश्च तपोधनाः (bhṛgvādyāśca tapodhanāḥ) — rich in austerity, beginning with Bhṛgurich in austerity, beginning with Bhṛgu·अन्ये ह्युपसुरास्तद्वत् (anye hyupasurāstadvat) — and other demigods likewiseand other demigods likewise·सिद्धाश्चान्येऽपि वै कृताः (siddhāścānye'pi vai kṛtāḥ) — and the Siddhas and yet others were madeand the Siddhas and yet others were made

विष्णुश्च पार्षदैः सर्वैः (viṣṇuśca pārṣadaiḥ sarvaiḥ) — and Viṣṇu, together with all his attendantsand Viṣṇu, together with all his attendants·गरुडाख्यैः समन्वितः (garuḍākhyaiḥ samanvitaḥ) — of the Garuḍa orderof the Garuḍa order·कृत्रिमो निर्मितस्तद्वत् (kṛtrimo nirmitastadvat) — was likewise fashioned as an artificial imagewas likewise fashioned as an artificial image·परमाश्चर्यरूपवान् (paramāścaryarūpavān) — of the most wondrous formof the most wondrous form

तथैवाहं सुतैर्वेदैः (tathaivāhaṃ sutairvedaiḥ) — and I too, likewise, by my sons, the Vedasand I too, likewise, by my sons, the Vedas·सिद्धैश्च परिवारितः (siddhaiśca parivāritaḥ) — and by the Siddhas, surroundedand by the Siddhas, surrounded·कृत्रिमो निर्मितस्तद्वत् (kṛtrimo nirmitastadvat) — was fashioned as an artificial imagewas fashioned as an artificial image·पठन्सूक्तानि नारद (paṭhansūktāni nārada) — reciting hymns, O Nāradareciting hymns, O Nārada

ऐरावतगजारूढः शक्रः (airāvatagajārūḍhaḥ śakraḥ) — Śakra, mounted on the elephant AirāvataŚakra, mounted on the elephant Airāvata·स्वदलसंयुतः (svadalasaṃyutaḥ) — together with his own hosttogether with his own host·कृत्रिमो निर्मितस्तद्वत् (kṛtrimo nirmitastadvat) — was likewise fashioned as an artificial imagewas likewise fashioned as an artificial image·परिपूर्णेन्दुसंनिभः (paripūrṇendusaṃnibhaḥ) — resembling the full moonresembling the full moon

एवंभूतः कृतस्तेन (evaṃbhūtaḥ kṛtastena) — such was the pavilion made by himsuch was the pavilion made by him·मण्डपो दिव्यरूपवान् (maṇḍapo divyarūpavān) — the pavilion, of divine formthe pavilion, of divine form·अनेकाश्चर्यसम्भूतो (anekāścaryasambhūto) — arisen from countless wondersarisen from countless wonders·महान्देवविमोहनः (mahāndevavimohanaḥ) — great, bewildering even to the godsgreat, bewildering even to the gods

अथाज्ञप्तो गिरीशेन (athājñapto girīśena) — then, commanded by the lord of the mountainthen, commanded by the lord of the mountain·विश्वकर्मा महामतिः (viśvakarmā mahāmatiḥ) — Viśvakarmā, of great wisdomViśvakarmā, of great wisdom·निवासार्थं सुरादीनां (nivāsārthaṃ surādīnāṃ) — for the dwelling of the gods and othersfor the dwelling of the gods and others·तत्तल्लोकान् हि यत्नतः (tattallokān hi yatnataḥ) — laboured over each of those worldslaboured over each of those worlds

तत्रैव च महामञ्चाः (tatraiva ca mahāmañcāḥ) — and there too, great platformsand there too, great platforms·सुप्रभाः परमाद्भुताः (suprabhāḥ paramādbhutāḥ) — radiant and most wondrousradiant and most wondrous·रचिताः सुखदा दिव्याः (racitāḥ sukhadā divyāḥ) — fashioned, comforting, divinefashioned, comforting, divine·तेषां वै विश्वकर्मणा (teṣāṃ vai viśvakarmaṇā) — for them, by Viśvakarmāfor them, by Viśvakarmā

तथा स सत्यलोकं वै (tathā sa satyalokaṃ vai) — thus he, Satyaloka indeedthus he, Satyaloka indeed·विरेचे क्षणतोऽद्भुतम् (virece kṣaṇato'dbhutam) — fashioned in a moment, wondrousfashioned in a moment, wondrous·दीप्त्या परमया युक्तं (dīptyā paramayā yuktaṃ) — endowed with the greatest radianceendowed with the greatest radiance·निवासार्थं स्वयम्भुवः (nivāsārthaṃ svayambhuvaḥ) — for the dwelling of the Self-born [Brahmā]for the dwelling of the Self-born [Brahmā]

तथैव विष्णोस्त्वपरं (tathaiva viṣṇostvaparaṃ) — likewise, for Viṣṇu, anotherlikewise, for Viṣṇu, another·वैकुण्ठाख्यं महोज्ज्वलम् (vaikuṇṭhākhyaṃ mahojjvalam) — called Vaikuṇṭha, most radiantcalled Vaikuṇṭha, most radiant·विरेचे क्षणतो दिव्यं (virece kṣaṇato divyaṃ) — he fashioned in a moment, divinehe fashioned in a moment, divine·नानाश्चर्यसमन्वितम् (nānāścaryasamanvitam) — filled with manifold wondersfilled with manifold wonders

अमरेशगृहं दिव्यं (amareśagṛhaṃ divyaṃ) — the divine dwelling of the lord of immortalsthe divine dwelling of the lord of immortals·तथैवाद्भुतमुत्तमम् (tathaivādbhutamuttamam) — likewise wondrous and supremelikewise wondrous and supreme·विरेचे विश्वकर्मासौ (virece viśvakarmāsau) — that Viśvakarmā fashionedthat Viśvakarmā fashioned·सर्वैश्वर्यसमन्वितम् (sarvaiśvaryasamanvitam) — endowed with every majestyendowed with every majesty

गृहाणि लोकपालानां (gṛhāṇi lokapālānāṃ) — the dwellings of the guardians of the quartersthe dwellings of the guardians of the quarters·विरेचे सुन्दराणि च (virece sundarāṇi ca) — he fashioned, beautiful oneshe fashioned, beautiful ones·तद्वत्स प्रीतितो (tadvatsa prītito) — likewise, out of his own delightlikewise, out of his own delight·दिव्यान्यद्भुतानि महान्ति च (divyānyadbhutāni mahānti ca) — divine, wondrous, and greatdivine, wondrous, and great

तथैव चित्रं परमं महोज्ज्वलं (tathaiva citraṃ paramaṃ mahojjvalaṃ) — and likewise, wondrous, supremely radiantand likewise, wondrous, supremely radiant·महाप्रभं देववरैः सुपूजितम् (mahāprabhaṃ devavaraiḥ supūjitam) — of great splendour, well honoured by the best of godsof great splendour, well honoured by the best of gods·गिरीशचिह्नं शिवलोकसंस्थितं (girīśacihnaṃ śivalokasaṃsthitaṃ) — bearing the emblems of the mountain-lord, situated in Śivalokabearing the emblems of the mountain-lord, situated in Śivaloka·सुशोभितं शम्भुगृहं चकार (suśobhitaṃ śambhugṛhaṃ cakāra) — he made the beautiful house of Śambhuhe made the beautiful house of Śambhu
