Chapter Six · How the Purāṇa Is to Be Heard · Verses 1–65

Sūta describes the full rite of a Śiva Purāṇa recital — sending word to every region, raising the pavilion, seating the speaker and listeners, honouring the reciter and the book, taking the vow — and sets out the fruits, blessed and dire, of hearing the tale with reverence or with carelessness.
