बैदेही

Lakṣmaṇa meets the mothers and takes their blessing, and meets Kaikeyī again and again, though the pain in her heart does not pass. Sītā meets her mothers-in-law and bows at their feet; they bless her. All watch Rāma's face and keep back their tears for it is a time of joy. They wave golden lamp-trays before him and give offerings. Kausalyā looks on Rāma again and again and wonders in her heart how those two tender boys killed the great demon lord Laṅkā's king. लक्ष्मण सब माताओं से मिलकर आशीर्वाद पाते हैं और कैकेयी से बार-बार मिलते हैं, पर उसके मन का क्षोभ नहीं जाता। सीता सब सासों से मिलती हैं और चरणों में प्रणाम करती हैं; वे उन्हें आशीर्वाद देती हैं कि तुम्हारा सुहाग अचल हो। सब राम का मुख-कमल देखती हैं और मंगल का समय जानकर आँसू रोकती हैं। वे सोने के थाल में आरती उतारती हैं और बार-बार न्योछावर करती हैं। कौसल्या बार-बार राम को देखती हैं और मन में सोचती हैं कि इन दोनों सुकुमार बालकों ने बलवान राक्षसों और लंकापति को कैसे मारा।

१1 सासुन्ह सबनि मिली बैदेही। चरनन्हि लागि हरषु अति तेही ॥ देहिं असीस बूझि कुसलाता। होइ अचल तुम्हार अहिवाता ॥

Vaidehī met all her mothers-in-law and bowed at their feet, glad. They asked after her welfare and blessed her, 'May your married state never end.'

All looked at Raghupati's lotus face and held back their tears, knowing it a time of good fortune. They waved golden trays of lamps before him and looked again and again at the Lord's form.

३3 नाना भाँति निछावरि करहीं। परमानंद हरष उर भरहीं ॥ कौसल्या पुनि पुनि रघुबीरहि। चितवति कृपासिंधु रनधीरहि ॥
