After the sages leave, the brothers bow at Rāma's feet. All wish to ask him something, but hold back, and look at Hanumān. Rāma wishes them to hear the words that end all doubt, and knows the mind of all. He asks Hanumān why they are asking. Hanumān folds his hands and says Bharata wishes to ask something but hesitates. Rāma says to Hanumān that he knows his nature: is there any difference between Bharata and me? Bharata clasps Rāma's feet and says: Lord, I have no doubt, and not even in dreams any sorrow or delusion. It is only your kindness, a store of joy in mercy.
