Chapter 35·The sages ask for devotion·Verses 1–
The sages keep praying: give devotion, Raghupati, a very pure one that burns up the three pains and the world's pride. Wish-giving cow and tree to those who bow, be pleased and give us this boon. Rāma is like Agastya to the sea of the world, easy to serve, and a giver of joy. Destroy the hard pains of the mind, spread evenness. Remove hope, fear and envy; spread humility, discernment and detachment. Crown-jewel of kings, ornament of the earth, give devotion, a boat across the river of the world. Swan in the minds of sages, bridge and banner of the Raghus, guardian of the Vedas, eater of time, action, nature and qualities, remover of all faults, ornament of the three worlds, Lord of Tulasīdāsa. With love they bow again and again and go to Brahmā's world, having won the boon they most wanted.
