कौसलपुर आए
Bharata goes back to Kosalapura, tells his guru and then the mothers that Rāma is coming. The mothers run out, the people hear the news, and men and women hurry out with curd, durvā grass, turmeric, fruit, flowers and tulasī leaves in golden trays. Nobody takes a thought for who is old or young. Ayodhyā itself shines, the wind is sweet and the Sarayū runs clear. Bharata sets out with the guru, family, his brother and the brahmins, and the people watch the car in the sky.भरत प्रसन्न होकर कोसलपुर लौटते हैं, गुरु को और फिर माताओं को समाचार देते हैं कि प्रभु कुशल से आ रहे हैं। माताएँ उठकर दौड़ती हैं, नगरवासियों को खबर मिलती है और स्त्री-पुरुष दही, दूब, रोचना, फल, फूल और तुलसी दल लेकर सोने के थालों में सजाए चल पड़ते हैं। किसी को बाल-वृद्ध का ध्यान नहीं रहता। अयोध्या शोभा की खान हो जाती है, सुहावनी हवा बहती है और सरयू का जल निर्मल हो जाता है। भरत गुरु, परिजन, छोटे भाई और ब्राह्मणों के साथ चल पड़ते हैं और लोग अटारियों से आकाश में विमान देखते हैं।

भरत हर्षित होकर कोसलपुर आए और गुरु को सारा समाचार सुनाया। फिर महल में भी बताया कि रघुनाथ कुशल से नगर आ रहे हैं।
Glad at heart, Bharata came to Kosalapura and told his guru the whole news. Then he told it in the palace: the Lord of the Raghus was coming to the city, safe and well.

२2सुनत सकल जननीं उठि धाईं। कहि प्रभु कुसल भरत समुझाई ॥समाचार पुरबासिंह पाए। नर अरु नारि हरषि सब धाए ॥

यह सुनते ही सब माताएँ उठकर दौड़ीं। भरत ने समझाकर बताया कि प्रभु कुशल से हैं। नगरवासियों ने भी समाचार पाया और सब स्त्री-पुरुष हर्षित होकर दौड़ पड़े।
Hearing it, all the mothers rose and ran. Bharata calmed them and told them the Lord was well. The people of the city heard too, and men and women all ran out gladly.

३3दधि दुर्बा रोचन फल फूला। नव तुलसी दल मंगल मूला ॥भरि भरि हेम थार भामिनी। गावत चलिं सिंधु सिंधुरगामिनी ॥

वे दही, दूब, गोरोचन, फल, फूल और नई तुलसी के पत्ते लेकर चले, जो मंगल की जड़ हैं। सुन्दर स्त्रियाँ सोने के थालों को भर-भरकर गाती हुई हथिनियों की-सी चाल से चलीं।
They carried curd, durvā grass, yellow pigment, fruit, flowers and fresh tulasī leaves, the roots of every blessing. Women filled golden trays again and again and set out singing, walking with the grace of elephants.

जो जैसे थे वैसे ही उठकर दौड़ पड़े। बाल और वृद्धों को भी साथ नहीं लिया। एक-दूसरे से पूछते थे, 'तुमने दयालु राम को देखा?'
Each ran just as they were, and did not wait to bring the young and old with them. They asked each other, 'Have you seen the merciful Rāma?'

५5अवधपुरी प्रभु आवत जानी। भई सकल सोभा कै खानी ॥बहइ सुहावन त्रिबिध समीरा। भइ सरजू अति निर्मल नीरा ॥

प्रभु को आते जानकर अयोध्यापुरी शोभा की खान हो गई। सुहावनी, शीतल, सुगन्धित वायु बहने लगी और सरयू का जल बहुत निर्मल हो गया।
Knowing the Lord was near, Ayodhyā became a mine of beauty. A sweet, cool, fragrant breeze blew and the Sarayū's water grew very clear.

रघुपति रूपी पूर्णिमा के चन्द्रमा को देखकर अयोध्या रूपी समुद्र उमड़ पड़ा, और स्त्रियाँ तरंगों जैसी बढ़कर कोलाहल करने लगीं।
The city was like an ocean seeing the full moon of Raghupati, and the people rose in a great roar as the women swelled like waves.
