Rāma, the sun of the solar line, shows the lovely city to the monkeys. He tells Sugrīva, Aṅgada and Vibhīṣaṇa that this holy city and country are beautiful. All the Vaikuṇṭha worlds are praised, yet none is as dear to him as Ayodhyā, though few know it. It is his birthplace, and the Sarayū flows north; whoever bathes there finds a home near him. He loves the people there. The monkeys rejoice. All the worlds of Vaikuṇṭha are praised in the Vedas and Purāṇas, as the whole world knows. Yet none is as dear to me as the city of Ayodhyā. Few people know this.

यह सुहावनी पुरी मेरी जन्मभूमि है। उत्तर दिशा में पवित्र सरयू बहती है। जो उसमें स्नान करते हैं, वे बिना प्रयास मेरे समीप निवास पाते हैं।
This lovely city is my birthplace. To the north flows the holy Sarayū. Those who bathe in it come, without effort, to live near me.

The people who live here are very dear to me. This city gives my own home, and it is a heap of happiness.' All the monkeys were glad to hear the Lord's words. 'Blessed is Avadha, that Rāma speaks of.'

Seeing all the people coming, the Lord, ocean of mercy, brought the car down to the ground near the city.

उतरकर प्रभु ने पुष्पक से कहा, 'तुम कुबेर के पास जाओ।' राम की प्रेरणा से वह चला, हर्षित भी और वियोग से बहुत दुखी भी।
Getting down, the Lord told Puṣpaka, 'Go to Kubera.' Sent by Rāma it went, glad, yet very sad at parting from him.
