प्रिय बचन

Hanumān is overjoyed at the sight and tells Bharata that the Lord who is the cause of his grief is coming safe, with Sītā and his brother, after winning the war. Bharata forgets all his sorrow, asks who he is, and learns it is Hanumān, Rāma's servant. He embraces him and says nothing in the world can repay such news. He asks to hear the whole story, and Hanumān tells it. Bharata asks whether the Lord ever remembers him, and Hanumān is moved. Rāma's own words about Bharata are quoted. Hanumān then hurries back to Rāma. हनुमान भरत को देखकर बहुत प्रसन्न होते हैं और कहते हैं कि जिनके विरह में आप दिन-रात दुखी हैं, वे प्रभु युद्ध जीतकर सीता और भाई सहित कुशल से आ रहे हैं। यह सुनकर भरत का सारा दुख मिट जाता है। वे पूछते हैं कि आप कौन हैं, और जब पता चलता है कि ये राम के दास हनुमान हैं तो उठकर आदर से गले लगा लेते हैं। वे कहते हैं कि इस समाचार के बराबर संसार में कुछ नहीं, और प्रभु की सारी कथा सुनाने को कहते हैं। हनुमान कथा सुनाते हैं और भरत पूछते हैं कि प्रभु कभी मुझे याद करते हैं या नहीं। फिर हनुमान भरत को प्रणाम कर तुरन्त राम के पास लौट जाते हैं।

Seeing him, Hanumān was very glad. His body thrilled and tears of joy fell from his eyes. In his heart he felt great happiness, and he spoke in words sweet as nectar to the ear.

यह चार पंक्तियों का छंद हनुमान का उत्तर है, जिसमें वे कहते हैं कि स्वयं राम भरत के गुणों का बखान करते हैं।

Hanumān's reply is sung as a four-line stanza in which he says that Rāma himself praises Bharata's virtues.
