The spy says that all these monkeys are like Sugrīva, and who can count the millions like them? By Rāma's grace they have matchless strength and count the three worlds as straw. He tells Rāvaṇa he has heard that there are eighteen padmas of monkey chiefs. Lord, in the army there is no monkey who could not beat you in battle. All of them wring their hands in great anger, but Raghunātha does not give the order. They could dry up the sea with its fish and serpents, or fill it with great hills. They could crush Rāvaṇa and mix him with the dust; the monkeys all speak so. They roar and threaten without fear, as if to swallow Laṅkā.
