Laṅkinī tells Hanumān to enter the city and do all his work, keeping the king of Kosala in his heart. She says that for one who has Rāma's favour, poison turns to nectar, enemies to friends, the sea to a cow's hoofprint, fire to coolness, and Garuḍa and Mount Sumeru to a grain of dust. Hanumān takes a tiny form and enters, remembering the Lord. He searches house after house and sees countless warriors. He sees Rāvaṇa's palace, which cannot be described. He sees Rāvaṇa asleep but no Vaidehī. He then sees a lovely house, a separate temple to Hari. It is marked with Rāma's weapons, and he is glad to see a clump of fresh tulasī.लंकिनी हनुमान से कहती है कि कोसलपुर के राजा को हृदय में रखकर नगर में घुसो और सब काम करो। जिस पर राम की कृपा होती है, उसके लिए विष अमृत हो जाता है, शत्रु मित्र बन जाते हैं, समुद्र गोखुर जितना रह जाता है, आग ठण्डी हो जाती है, और गरुड़ तथा सुमेरु धूल के कण जैसे हो जाते हैं। हनुमान बहुत छोटा रूप धरकर भगवान का स्मरण करते हुए नगर में घुसे। उन्होंने घर-घर खोज की और असंख्य योद्धा देखे। वे रावण के महल में गए, जिसका वर्णन नहीं हो सकता। रावण को सोता देखा, पर सीता वहाँ नहीं दिखीं। फिर एक सुन्दर भवन दिखा, जहाँ हरि का अलग मन्दिर बना था। वह राम के शस्त्रों से अंकित था और वहाँ तुलसी के नए पौधों का झुण्ड देखकर हनुमान प्रसन्न हुए।

Garuḍa and Sumeru become like a grain of dust to the one on whom Rāma looks with favour.' Hanumān took a very tiny form and entered the city, remembering the Lord.
