As soon as Vibhīṣaṇa goes, all of them lose their span of life. Insult to a saint at once destroys all welfare. The moment Rāvaṇa gave up Vibhīṣaṇa, he was unlucky and lost his splendour. Vibhīṣaṇa goes gladly to Raghunāyaka with many wishes in his mind. He will see the lotus feet, red and tender, who give joy to their servants; the feet which freed the sage's wife by their touch; which purified the Daṇḍaka forest; which Janaka's daughter held to her heart; which ran after the false deer; which are lotuses in the lake of Śiva's heart. 'What fortune that I shall see them!' The feet on which Bharata kept his mind, whose sandals he served: those feet I shall see today with these eyes.विभीषण के चलते ही सब आयुहीन हो गए। भवानी, साधु का अपमान तुरन्त सबका कल्याण नष्ट कर देता है। जब रावण ने विभीषण को त्यागा, उसी क्षण वह वैभवहीन और अभागा हो गया। विभीषण हर्षित होकर रघुनायक के पास चले, मन में बहुत मनोरथ करते हुए। वे सोच रहे थे कि मैं जाकर उन चरणकमलों को देखूँगा जो लाल और कोमल हैं और सेवकों को सुख देते हैं। जिन चरणों के स्पर्श से ऋषि की स्त्री तर गई, जिन्होंने दण्डक वन को पवित्र किया, जिन्हें जनकसुता ने हृदय से लगाया, जो कपट-मृग के पीछे दौड़े, और जो शिव के हृदयरूपी सरोवर के कमल हैं। मेरा बड़ा भाग्य है कि मैं उन्हें देखूँगा। जिन चरणों की पादुकाओं में भरत ने मन लगाए रखा, उन चरणों को आज मैं इन आँखों से जाकर देखूँगा।
