Hanumān is glad at Jāmbavān's words. He asks his friends to wait on the shore, living on roots and fruit, until he comes back after seeing Sītā. He bows to them all, keeps Rāma in his heart, and climbs a lovely hill by the sea. Remembering Rāma again and again, he leaps, and the hill sinks under his feet to the underworld. He flies like Rāma's unfailing arrow. The ocean sends the hill Maināka to rest him, but Hanumān only touches it, bows, and says he has no rest until Rāma's work is done.जाम्बवान की बातों से हनुमान बहुत प्रसन्न होते हैं। वे साथियों से कहते हैं कि जब तक मैं सीता को देखकर लौटूँ, तुम कन्द, मूल और फल खाकर दुख सहते हुए यहीं मेरी राह देखना। वे सबको प्रणाम करते हैं, रघुनाथ को हृदय में धारण करते हैं और समुद्र के किनारे एक सुन्दर पर्वत पर चढ़ जाते हैं। बार-बार राम का स्मरण कर वे छलाँग लगाते हैं और पर्वत उनके पैर के दबाव से पाताल में धँस जाता है। वे राम के अमोघ बाण की तरह चलते हैं। समुद्र उन्हें थकान मिटाने के लिए मैनाक पर्वत को भेजता है, पर हनुमान उसे केवल छूकर प्रणाम करते हैं और कहते हैं कि राम का काम किए बिना विश्राम कहाँ।

समुद्र के किनारे एक सुन्दर पर्वत था। हनुमान खेल-खेल में कूदकर उसके ऊपर चढ़ गए। बार-बार रघुवीर का स्मरण करके पवनपुत्र ने बड़े बल से छलाँग लगाई।
On the shore of the sea stood one lovely hill. In play he leapt up on it. Again and again he called Rāma to mind, and the son of the Wind sprang up with great force.
