Śiva says Rāma's play with qualities cannot be reasoned out by intellect or speech; knowing this, the wise and dispassionate give up argument and worship him. Meghanāda throws the army into confusion, then appears and speaks harsh words. Jāmbavān tells him to stand, and Meghanāda, hearing the old bear, strikes his chest with a trident, but Jāmbavān catches it and hurls it back. Meghanāda falls dizzy; Jāmbavān swings him by the foot and dashes him down to show his strength, and since the boon keeps him from dying, throws him onto Laṅkā. Meanwhile the sage Nārada sends Garuḍa, who reaches Rāma at once and devours all the illusory serpents. He struck it on Meghanāda's chest, and the destroyer of the gods fell to the ground, dizzy. Then, enraged, Jāmbavān seized him by the foot, whirled him round, and flung him down to show his strength.

वर के प्रसाद से वह मारने पर मरता नहीं था, इसलिए जाम्बवान ने उसे पैर पकड़कर लंका पर फेंक दिया। यहाँ देवर्षि ने गरुड़ को भेजा, और वे तुरंत राम के पास आ पहुँचे।
By the boon he had, he would not die by being struck, so Jāmbavān took him by the foot and flung him onto Laṅkā. Here the divine sage sent Garuḍa, who came quickly to Rāma's side.
