पावक साखी
Hanumān is glad that his Lord is kind to him. He tells Rāma that Sugrīva, the king of the monkeys, is his servant, and asks him to make friends with Sugrīva, give him safety, and so have Sītā searched for. Hanumān carries the two brothers on his back to the hill. Sugrīva counts his birth blessed on seeing Rāma. Hanumān tells each side the other's story and joins them in friendship, with fire as witness.हनुमान प्रसन्न हैं कि प्रभु उन पर कृपालु हैं। वे राम से कहते हैं कि कपिराज सुग्रीव आपका दास है; उससे मित्रता कीजिए, उसे अभय दीजिए, वह सीता की खोज करवाएगा। हनुमान दोनों भाइयों को पीठ पर चढ़ाकर पर्वत पर ले जाते हैं। राम को देखकर सुग्रीव अपना जन्म सफल मानता है। हनुमान दोनों ओर की कथा सुनाते हैं और अग्नि को साक्षी बनाकर उनकी मित्रता करा देते हैं।

प्रभु को अपने अनुकूल देखकर हनुमान हृदय में प्रसन्न हुए और उनके सब कष्ट दूर हो गए। 'प्रभु, उस पर्वत पर वानरों का राजा रहता है। वह सुग्रीव आपका दास है।
Seeing his Lord so kind to him, Hanumān was glad at heart and all his pain was gone. 'Lord, on that hill lives the king of the monkeys. Sugrīva is your servant.
Verse 2
२2तेहि सन नाथ मयत्री कीजे। दीन जानि तेहि अभय करीजे ॥सो सीता कर खोज कराइहि। जहँ तहँ मरकट कोटि पठाइहि ॥

प्रभु, उससे मित्रता कीजिए। उसे दीन जानकर अभय दीजिए। वह सीता की खोज करवाएगा और करोड़ों वानरों को जहाँ-तहाँ भेजेगा।'
Make friends with him, Lord. See that he is in need, and give him freedom from fear. He will have Sītā searched for, and send millions of monkeys everywhere.'

३3एहि बिधि सकल कथा समुझाई। लिए दुऔ जन पीठि चढ़ाई ॥जब सुग्रीवँ राम कहुँ देखा। अतिसय जन्म धन्य करि लेखा ॥
ehi bidhi sakala kathā samujhāī lie duau jana pīṭhi caṛhāī |jaba sugrīvam̐ rāma kahum̐ dekhā atisaya janma dhanya kari lekhā ||

यह सब समझाकर हनुमान ने दोनों को अपनी पीठ पर चढ़ा लिया। जब सुग्रीव ने राम को देखा तो उसने अपना जन्म बड़ा धन्य माना।
Having explained it all, Hanumān took the two on his back. When Sugrīva saw Rāma, he counted his birth greatly blessed.

४4सादर मिलेउ नाइ पद माथा। भैंटेउ अनुज सहित रघुनाथा ॥कपि कर मन बिचार एहि रीती। करिहहिं बिधि मो सन ए प्रीती ॥

वह आदर से चरणों में माथा नवाकर मिला, और रघुनाथ ने छोटे भाई सहित उसे गले लगाया। सुग्रीव ने मन में सोचा: 'क्या विधाता सचमुच इन दोनों को मुझसे प्रेम करने वाला बना देगा?'
He met him with respect, bowing at his feet, and Rāma embraced him together with his younger brother. The monkey king thought in his heart: 'Will fate make these two truly love me?'

दोहा ४दोहा 4तब हनुमंत उभय दिसि की सब कथा सुनाइ।पावक साखी देइ करि जोरी प्रीती दृढ़ाइ ॥ ४ ॥
taba hanumaṃta ubhaya disi kī saba kathā sunāi |pāvaka sākhī dei kari jorī prītī dṛṛhāi ||

तब हनुमान ने दोनों ओर की सारी कथा एक-दूसरे को सुनाई। उन्होंने अग्नि को साक्षी बनाकर दोनों को जोड़ दिया और उनकी प्रीति दृढ़ कर दी।
Then Hanumān told each side the whole story of the other. With fire as witness he joined them, and made their friendship firm.
