Nārada says that even the Gaṅgā's water made into wine is never drunk by saints; but what mixes with the Gaṅgā becomes pure, and so differ the Lord and the lesser. Śambhu is mighty and a god, and this marriage will be good in every way. He is hard to please, yet pleased quickly if one suffers for him. If the girl does penance, Tripurāri can undo even what fate has written. Though there are many husbands in the world, for her there is no one but Śiva. He gives boons, destroys the grief of those who bow, is an ocean of mercy and delights his servants. Without worshipping him, the wished-for fruit cannot be had even by millions of yogas, chants and practices. Remembering Hari, Nārada blesses Girijā and says the marriage will happen; give up doubt.नारद कहते हैं कि गंगाजल से बनी मदिरा को संत कभी नहीं पीते, पर वही जल गंगा में मिल जाए तो पवित्र हो जाता है; ईश और अनीश में यही अन्तर है। शम्भु सहज समर्थ भगवान हैं, इस विवाह से सब प्रकार कल्याण है। वे कठिनाई से प्रसन्न होने वाले हैं, पर कष्ट सहकर आराधना की जाए तो शीघ्र प्रसन्न हो जाते हैं। यदि तुम्हारी पुत्री तप करे तो त्रिपुरारि होनहार को भी मिटा सकते हैं। संसार में बहुत वर हैं, पर इसके लिए शिव को छोड़कर दूसरा नहीं। वे वर देने वाले, शरणागत का दुःख हरने वाले, कृपासिन्धु और सेवकों के मन को प्रसन्न करने वाले हैं। शिव की आराधना के बिना करोड़ों योग-जप-साधन से भी इच्छित फल नहीं मिलता। हरि का स्मरण कर नारद ने गिरिजा को आशीर्वाद दिया कि यह विवाह होगा; हे गिरीश, संदेह छोड़ दो।

'If one makes wine of the Gaṅgā's water, saints never drink it. But the same thing mixed with the Gaṅgā becomes pure; such is the difference between the Lord and one who is not.
