Nārada goes to Brahmā's world, and what happened next is told. Finding her husband alone, Mainā says she did not understand the sage. If the house, groom and family are good, marry Umā to such a one; if not, let the girl stay unmarried, for she is dearer than life. If no fitting groom is found, people will call the mountain dull; think of this, so that he need not burn with grief later. Saying this she falls at his feet, and the mountain king answers lovingly that fire could appear in the moon, but Nārada's word cannot be untrue. He says: stop worrying, remember Śrī Bhagavān, who created Pārvatī and will see to her good.नारद ब्रह्मलोक चले गए; आगे का चरित सुनो। पति को एकान्त में पाकर मैना ने कहा कि नाथ, मैंने मुनि की बात नहीं समझी। यदि घर, वर और कुल अनुकूल हो तो उमा का विवाह कीजिए; नहीं तो कन्या कुँआरी रहे, क्योंकि वह मुझे प्राणों से प्यारी है। यदि उमा के योग्य वर न मिला तो सब लोग कहेंगे कि पर्वत स्वभाव से जड़ है। यह सोचकर विवाह कीजिए, जिससे बाद में हृदय का दाह न हो। यह कहकर वे चरणों में सिर रखकर गिर पड़ीं। तब गिरीश स्नेह से बोले कि चाहे अग्नि चन्द्रमा में प्रकट हो जाए, पर नारद का वचन झूठा नहीं होगा। हे प्रिये, चिन्ता छोड़ो और श्रीभगवान् का स्मरण करो; जिसने पार्वती को रचा है वही कल्याण करेगा।

यदि गिरिजा के योग्य वर न मिला तो सब लोग कहेंगे कि पर्वत स्वभाव से ही जड़ है। यह सोचकर विवाह कीजिए, जिससे बाद में हृदय में जलन न हो।
If no groom is found to suit Girijā, everyone will say the mountain is dull by nature. Think of this and arrange the marriage, so that your heart does not burn afterward.
