When the Creator gives clear judgement, the mind leaves faults and loves virtues. Time, nature and force of deeds can make even a good person lose goodness. Servants of Hari mend that and wash away the faults to leave a clean name. Even the wicked do good in good company, but the dirt of a base nature does not leave. Those who wear a good disguise to cheat the world are honoured for the disguise, but are found out in the end, like Kālanemi, Rāvaṇa and Rāhu. A good dress honours a saint even if falsely worn, as Jāmbavān and Hanumān. Bad company brings loss and good company gain; dust rises to the sky with the wind and sinks to the mud with the water. Even the parrots in the houses of saint and sinner speak of Rāma or abuse by what they hear. Smoke from bad company becomes soot, and the same smoke becomes rain-cloud, the giver of life. In the dohās the poet sees all that is moving or still as full of Rāma, and bows with folded hands to everyone: gods, demons, men, serpents, birds, ghosts, ancestors, gandharvas, kinnaras and rākṣasas.

When the Creator gives such judgement, the mind leaves the faults and is taken with virtues. Time, nature and the force of deeds can make even a good person miss his goodness.

The servants of Hari mend that, as one cleans a thing, and with the pain and faults gone they give a clean name. Even the wicked do good when they find good company, yet their dirty nature does not go, unbroken.

Those who are known to the world as cheats in a good disguise are honoured by the power of the disguise, but in the end they are caught and cannot last, like Kālanemi, Rāvaṇa and Rāhu.

Even in a bad disguise a saint is honoured, like Jāmbavān and Hanumān in the world. Bad company brings loss, good company brings gain. This is known to all, in the world and in the Vedas.

Dust rises to the sky with the wind and sinks into mud with water. The parrots and mynas in the houses of saint and sinner remember Rāma's name or hurl abuse, by what they hear.

Smoke from bad company turns into soot, and that same black ink is used to write the lovely Purāṇas. And the same smoke, joined with water, fire and wind, becomes the cloud, the giver of life to the world.

The light of the two fortnights is the same, but the Creator gave them different names. The moon takes strength in one and gives it in the other, and the world gave it fame and shame.
