Chapter Six·The world is made of good and bad·Verses 1–
The qualities of the wicked and of the good are two oceans, wide and deep. So the poet tells a little of each, since one cannot take or leave without knowing. The Creator made good and bad together, and the Vedas, the histories and the Purāṇas weigh them. Pain and joy, sin and merit, day and night, saint and sinner, high birth and low, demon and god, high and low, nectar and poison, life and death, māyā and Brahman, the soul and the Lord, wealth and want, beggar and king, the road to Kāśī and the Gaṅgā against the Karmanāśā and the desert, heaven and hell, love and dispassion: all are mixed with qualities and faults. The dohā says that the Creator made all that is moving and still of both qualities, and the saint, like a swan, takes the milk of the good and leaves the water of the bad.

The faults of the wicked and the virtues of the good are two boundless oceans, too deep to cross. That is why I have told a little of the virtues and faults: nothing is taken or left without being known first.
Verse 2
bhaleu poca saba bidhi upajāe gani guna doṣa beda bilagāe |kahahiṃ beda itihāsa purānā bidhi prapaṃcu guna avaguna sānā ||

The Creator made the good and the base together, and the Vedas weigh their qualities and faults and set them apart. The Vedas, the histories and the Purāṇas all say that the Creator's world is mixed with good and bad.
Verse 3

Māyā and Brahman, the soul and the Lord of the world, wealth and poverty, beggar and king; the road to Kāśī and the Gaṅgā against the Karmanāśā and the desert of Marwar; the land of the brahmins against the land of the cows' killers.
Explanation
The Karmanāśā was held in popular belief to destroy merit, and to die in Kāśī was thought to give release. The line sets up places of good and bad.

The Creator made this world, moving and still, of both quality and fault. The saint, like a swan, takes the good that is milk and leaves the water of ill.
