In her heart Satī was thinking of her own deed, with a worry beyond telling. Śiva is an ocean of mercy, very deep, and did not say her fault aloud. Looking at Śaṅkara's face, Bhavānī felt, 'My Lord has left me,' and her heart was in turmoil. She could not tell what she felt of her own sin, and burned inside like a potter's kiln. Knowing Satī was in grief, the bull-bannered one told her lovely tales, pleasing and full of many stories along the way, and thus the lord of the world came to Kailāsa. There Śambhu remembered his own vow, sat in lotus posture under a banyan, and a boundless, unbroken trance came on Śaṅkara, who took back his natural form. Seeing Satī in sorrow, the bull-bannered one told her lovely tales, pleasing to hear. Telling of many histories on the road, the lord of the world reached Kailāsa.
