पंच कवल करि जेवन लागे
The guests begin to eat, taking the five first morsels, and are delighted by the teasing songs the women sing. Sweet dishes of many kinds are laid out, like nectar and beyond description. Skilful servers bring dishes of countless names. The feast is of four kinds, each beyond telling, and there are tasty dishes in all six tastes, each taste in countless forms. While they eat, the women sing sweet teasing songs, naming the men and women of the guests' families. These songs, at the right time, are lovely, and the king and his company laugh to hear them. So all finish the meal and are given water to rinse their mouths. Janaka and Daśaratha and their company are given betel and honoured, and all the glad kings, crown-jewels of their lands, go back to the lodging.बराती पाँच कौर लेकर भोजन करने लगे और गारी-गान सुनकर बहुत प्रसन्न हुए। अनेक पकवान परोसे गए जो अमृत जैसे हैं, उनका वर्णन नहीं होता। चतुर परोसने वाले बहुत प्रकार के व्यंजन परोसने लगे, कौन उन सबके नाम जाने? चार प्रकार का भोजन बताया गया है, एक-एक की विधि कही नहीं जाती। छह रसों के सुन्दर व्यंजन बहुत जाति के हैं, एक-एक रस अनगिनत भाँति का है। भोजन करते समय स्त्रियाँ पुरुषों और स्त्रियों के नाम ले-लेकर मधुर स्वर में गारी देती हैं। समय पर वह सुहावनी गारी शोभा देती है, उसे सुनकर राजा समाज सहित हँसते हैं। इस तरह सबने भोजन किया और आदर सहित आचमन दिया गया। जनक ने पान देकर दशरथ और समाज को पूजा, और सब राजाओं के सिरताज प्रसन्न होकर जनवासे गए।

चतुर परोसने वाले परोसने लगे; भोजन के अनेक व्यंजनों के नाम कौन जाने? भोजन की विधि चार प्रकार की बताई गई है, और एक-एक का वर्णन नहीं हो सकता।
The skilful servers began to serve; who could know the names of all the dishes? The rule of the feast was told as of four kinds, each beyond description.

समय पर वह सुहावनी गारी शोभा देती थी और उसे सुनकर राजा समाज सहित हँसते थे। इस प्रकार सबने भोजन किया और आदर सहित आचमन दिया गया।
The sweet teasing songs suited the hour, and the king and his company laughed to hear them. In this way all took their meal, and respectfully they were given water to rinse their mouths.

पान देकर जनक ने समाज सहित दशरथ की पूजा की। फिर सब राजाओं के सिरताज प्रसन्न होकर जनवासे गए।
