Chapter 262·Joy after the bow breaks·Verses 1–
The Lord threw the two halves of the bow on the ground, and all the people were glad. Viśvāmitra was a pure ocean with the water of love, lovely and deep; seeing Rāma the moon, his waves of thrill rose high. Drums sounded in the sky and the heavenly women danced and sang. Brahmā and the gods, siddhas and great sages praised the Lord and blessed him, and rained flowers and many garlands while the kinnaras sang sweet songs. Cries of victory filled the world, and the sound of the bow breaking could not be told apart. Joyfully the people said everywhere that Rāma had broken Śambhu's great bow. Bards, bhāṭs and minstrels, steady in mind, sang praises, and people showered horses, elephants, wealth, jewels and cloth.
