Then her friends point to the two lovely youths, dark and fair, behind a screen of creepers. Her eyes grow eager seeing them, glad as if they had recognised their own treasure. Seeing Raghupati's beauty her eyes stand still, and even the eyelids give up blinking. Overcome with love she goes limp, like a chakora hen gazing at the autumn moon. She brings Rāma into her heart through her eyes and shuts the doors of her eyelids. Her friends, seeing her overcome, are too shy to speak. At that moment the two brothers come out of the bower like two spotless moons from a cloud.सीता चारों ओर चकित होकर देखती हैं; मन में चिंता है कि राजकुमार कहाँ चले गए। मृग-शावक जैसे नेत्रों वाली जहाँ देखती हैं, वहाँ मानो श्वेत कमलों की पंक्तियाँ बरसने लगती हैं। तब सखियों ने लता की ओट में सुंदर श्याम और गौर किशोरों को दिखाया। रूप देखकर उनके नेत्र ललचा गए, और वे ऐसे हर्षित हुए मानो अपनी निधि को पहचान लिया हो। रघुपति की छवि देखकर नेत्र थक गए, पलकों ने भी झपकना छोड़ दिया। अधिक स्नेह से शरीर भोला-सा हो गया, जैसे शरद के चंद्रमा को चकोरी देख रही हो। सयानी सीता ने नेत्रों के मार्ग से राम को हृदय में ले आकर पलकों के किवाड़ बंद कर लिए। जब सखियों ने सीता को प्रेम के वश जाना तो वे सकुचाईं और कुछ कह न सकीं। उसी समय दोनों भाई लता-भवन से प्रकट हुए, मानो दो निर्मल चंद्रमा बादलों के परदे को हटाकर निकले हों।

Her eyes were struck still seeing Raghupati's beauty; even the eyelids gave up blinking. Overcome with deep love, her body went limp, like a chakora hen gazing at the autumn moon.
