Chapter 219 · The brothers walk the streets · Verses 1–

Bowing at the sage's feet, the two brothers, who give joy to the eyes of the world, set out. Groups of boys, seeing their great beauty, follow them, eyes and minds enchanted. They wear yellow cloth, quivers at the waist, and lovely bows and arrows in their hands. Fine sandal marks suit their bodies, a charming pair, one dark and one fair. They have lions' shoulders, broad arms and jewelled garlands on their chests, eyes like golden lotuses and faces like moons that free from the three kinds of suffering. Golden flowers shine on their ears, their glances steal hearts, their brows curve finely, and the tilak seems stamped on the brow. Both are beautiful from nail to crown.

Shoulders like lions', broad arms, and on their chests very beautiful garlands of jewels. Their eyes were lovely as golden lotuses, and their faces, like the moon, freed one from the three kinds of suffering.

Lovely caps on their fair heads, dark curly hair; both brothers were beautiful from nail to crown, and all their beauty was perfectly fitting.
