सत्य पन

'Taking a body of my own will in the form of a man, I shall appear in your house. With my portions, taking a body, dear one, I shall do deeds that bring joy to my devotees. People of great fortune who hear them with respect will cross the world, giving up pride and attachment. The primal Śakti who created the world will also come, as my illusion. I shall fulfil your wish; my word is true, true, true.' Saying this again and again, the Lord of mercy vanished. Keeping the Lord of mercy in their hearts, the couple lived in that hermitage for a while. In time, giving up their bodies without effort, they went and lived in Amarāvatī. Bharadvāja, this is the holy story that Vṛṣaketu told Umā. Now hear another reason for Rāma's birth. 'अपनी इच्छा से मनुष्य का रूप धारण करके मैं तुम्हारे घर में प्रकट होऊँगा। हे तात, अंशों समेत शरीर धरकर मैं भक्तों को सुख देने वाले चरित करूँगा। जो बड़भागी लोग उन्हें आदर से सुनेंगे, वे ममता और मद त्यागकर संसार से तर जाएँगे। जिस आदिशक्ति ने जगत को उत्पन्न किया है, वह भी मेरी इस माया के रूप में अवतार लेगी। मैं तुम्हारी अभिलाषा पूरी करूँगा; मेरा प्रण सत्य है, सत्य है, सत्य है।' ऐसा बार-बार कहकर कृपानिधान भगवान अन्तर्धान हो गए। भगवान की कृपा को हृदय में रखकर दम्पती कुछ समय उसी आश्रम में रहे। समय पाकर बिना प्रयास शरीर छोड़कर वे अमरावती में जाकर रहे। हे भरद्वाज, यह अति पवित्र इतिहास वृषकेतु ने उमा से कहा था। अब राम के जन्म का एक और कारण सुनो।
