If you are pleased with me, Lord, and truly count me as your servant, then remove my ignorance and tell the many tales of Raghunātha. One whose house stands under the tree of paradise, can he suffer the pain of poverty? Thinking so, moon-crowned Lord, remove the great confusion of my mind. The sages who speak of the highest truth say Rāma is the beginningless Brahman. Śeṣa, Śāradā, the Vedas and Purāṇas all sing his virtues. And you too chant Rāma, Rāma, day and night, with respect, O enemy of Kāma. Is that Rāma the son of the king of Avadh, or is he the unborn, qualityless, unseen Absolute? If he is a king's son, how can he be Brahman, whose mind was dazed by the loss of his wife? Seeing his deeds and hearing his greatness, my mind is greatly confused.पार्वती कहती हैं: हे सुख के धाम, यदि आप मुझ पर प्रसन्न हैं और मुझे अपनी दासी जानते हैं, तो रघुनाथ की अनेक कथाएँ कहकर मेरा अज्ञान दूर कीजिए। जिसका घर कल्पवृक्ष के नीचे हो वह दरिद्रता का दुःख कैसे सहे? ऐसा विचारकर मेरी बुद्धि का भ्रम हर लीजिए। परमार्थ के वक्ता मुनि राम को अनादि ब्रह्म कहते हैं; शेष, सरस्वती, वेद, पुराण सब उनके गुण गाते हैं। आप भी दिन-रात आदर से राम-राम जपते हैं। क्या वे अवध के राजा के पुत्र हैं, या कोई अजन्मा, निर्गुण, अलक्ष्य ब्रह्म? यदि राजपुत्र हैं तो ब्रह्म कैसे, जिनकी बुद्धि पत्नी के वियोग में भ्रमित हो गई? उनके चरित देखकर और महिमा सुनकर मेरी बुद्धि बहुत चकरा रही है।
