The glad king goes to his palace and calls his servants and the minister Sumantra. They bow and say: Long live the king. The king tells them the good news: if the five like it, put the mark on Rāma's brow. The ministers are glad, like rain on a wished-for seed. With folded hands they say: Live a million years, lord of the world. It is a good thing for the whole world, so do it quickly, do not delay. The king's joy grows like a vine finding a good branch. He asks the sage to tell him what is to be done for Rāma's anointing, and it will be done at once.प्रसन्न राजा महल में आए और सेवकों तथा मंत्री सुमन्त्र को बुलाया। उन्होंने जयजीव कहकर सिर नवाया; राजा ने उन्हें शुभ वचन सुनाए: यदि पंचों को यह मत अच्छा लगे तो प्रसन्न होकर राम को तिलक कीजिए। यह प्रिय वचन सुनकर मंत्री ऐसे आनन्दित हुए जैसे मनचाहे बीज पर पानी पड़ गया हो। उन्होंने हाथ जोड़कर विनती की: जगत के स्वामी, करोड़ों वर्ष जिएँ। यह जगत के मंगल का भला काम है, नाथ, जल्दी कीजिए, देर न कीजिए। मंत्रियों की सुन्दर बात सुनकर राजा का आनन्द ऐसे बढ़ा जैसे बढ़ती बेल को अच्छी डाल मिल गई हो। राजा ने मुनिराज से कहा: राम के राज्याभिषेक के लिए जो-जो आज्ञा हो, वही-वही जल्दी करवाइए।

'If the five of you like this plan, then gladly put the mark on Rāma.' Hearing his dear words, the ministers were glad, as if water had fallen on a seed they had wished for.
