Seeing the guru pleased, the king says in a soft voice: Lord, let Rāma be made heir, and tell me to make ready. While I live, let all the people have the fruit of seeing it. By your grace everything has been well for me. One wish remains in my heart, and I have no worry whether I live or die, as long as I have no regret afterwards. The sage is glad and says: He whom people turn from and regret, and without whose worship the burning does not stop, that very Lord has become your son, Rāma, pure and bound to love. Do not delay, O king. Make all ready, and the good day is the day Rāma becomes heir.गुरु को प्रसन्न जानकर राजा कोमल वाणी में बोले: नाथ, राम को युवराज बनाइए और कृपा करके तैयारी करने को कहिए। मेरे रहते यह उत्सव हो, ताकि सब लोग अपनी आँखों का फल पाएँ। आपकी कृपा से मेरा सब कुछ निभ गया, बस मन में यही एक लालसा है। फिर चिन्ता नहीं कि शरीर रहे या जाए, बस बाद में पछताना न पड़े। दशरथ के सुहावने वचन सुनकर मुनि मन में प्रसन्न हुए और बोले: हे राजन, सुनो, जिनसे विमुख होकर लोग पछताते हैं और जिनका भजन किए बिना जलन नहीं जाती, वही स्वामी आपके पुत्र हुए हैं, पवित्र राम, जो प्रेम के पीछे चलते हैं। हे राजन, देर मत कीजिए, सारी तैयारी कीजिए; शुभ दिन वही है जब राम युवराज हों।

Knowing in his heart that the guru was pleased, the king spoke in a soft and happy voice: Lord, let Rāma be made heir. Be kind and tell us to make the arrangements.

मेरे जीते-जी यह उत्सव हो, और सब लोग अपनी आँखों का फल पाएँ। प्रभु की कृपा से शिव ने सब कुछ निभा दिया; बस मेरे मन में यही एक लालसा है।
While I am alive, let this joy be held, and let all the people gain the fruit of their eyes. By the grace of the Lord, Śiva has seen to everything; only this one wish remains in my heart.

फिर चिन्ता नहीं कि शरीर रहे या जाए, बस बाद में पछताना न पड़े। दशरथ के सुहावने वचन सुनकर मुनि प्रसन्न हुए, क्योंकि वे आनन्द और मंगल की जड़ थे।
After that I have no worry whether my body stays or goes, as long as I do not regret it afterwards. Hearing Daśaratha's lovely words, the sage was glad at heart, for they were the root of joy and blessing.
