Chapter 255·Bharata answers the teacher·Verses 1–दोहा 255
बूझिअ मोहि उपाउ अब
The sage says that Rāma's anointing gives happiness to all, a single road to blessing and joy. How can Raghurāja be made to go back to Ayodhyā? Let them think and do that. The people hear the sage's words, full of policy, highest good and interest, but no answer comes and they are confused. Then Bharata bows with folded hands: 'Many kings have been born in the solar line, each greater than the one before. The cause of birth is father and mother, and the Creator gives good and bad karma. The world knows your blessing destroys sorrow and brings all good, but who can turn aside what Fate has set in the way? You ask me for a remedy now; all that is my misfortune.' Hearing his loving words, the teacher's heart overflowed with affection.मुनि कहते हैं कि राम का अभिषेक सबको सुख देने वाला है; मंगल और आनन्द का एक ही मार्ग है। रघुराज अवध को किस प्रकार चलें, यह समझकर बताओ और वही उपाय करो। सबने आदर से मुनिश्रेष्ठ की वाणी सुनी, जो नीति, परमार्थ और स्वार्थ से सनी थी। उत्तर न सूझा और लोग भोले-से हो गए। तब भरत ने सिर नवाकर हाथ जोड़े और कहा: सूर्यवंश में बहुत से राजा हुए, एक से एक बड़े। जन्म का कारण सबके माता-पिता हैं, और शुभ-अशुभ कर्म विधाता देता है। दुःख दलकर सब कल्याण सजाने वाला आपका आशीर्वाद जग जानता है; पर हे गोसाईं, विधाता की जो गति रुकी है और जो टेक उसने टेकी है, उसे कौन टाल सकता है? आप अब मुझसे उपाय पूछते हैं, यह सब मेरा अभाग्य है। भरत के स्नेहभरे वचन सुनकर गुरु के हृदय में अनुराग उमड़ आया।
