राम दरस की लालसा
As they walk, they hear the tale of Rāma's virtues together with their own, and remember Raghunātha. Seeing holy places, sages' hermitages and temples of the gods, they bathe and bow. In their hearts they ask for one boon: love for the lotus feet of Sītā and Rāma. They meet Kirātas, Kols, forest dwellers, hermits, students, ascetics and renunciants, bow to them, and ask in which forest Lakṣmaṇa, Rāma and Vaidehī stay. They tell all the Lord's news, and seeing Bharata they gain the fruit of their birth. Those who say they have seen them well are held as dear as Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa. Asking all in this way and hearing the story of Rāma's forest life, they stay that day and set out at dawn, remembering Raghunātha, all with the same longing to see Rāma as Bharata.वे अपने गुणों सहित राम के गुणों की कथा सुनते और रघुनाथ को स्मरण करते चले जाते हैं। तीर्थ, मुनियों के आश्रम और देवताओं के धाम देखकर स्नान करते और प्रणाम करते हैं। मन ही मन यही वर माँगते हैं कि सीता-राम के चरणकमलों में प्रेम हो। उन्हें किरात, कोल, वनवासी, वानप्रस्थ, ब्रह्मचारी, संन्यासी और उदासी मिलते हैं। प्रणाम करके वे जिस-तिस से पूछते हैं कि लक्ष्मण, राम और जानकी किस वन में हैं। वे प्रभु का सब समाचार कहते हैं और भरत को देखकर जन्म का फल पाते हैं। जो कहते हैं कि हमने उन्हें कुशल देखा है, वे राम-लक्ष्मण के समान प्रिय माने जाते हैं। इस प्रकार सुन्दर वाणी में सबसे पूछते और राम के वनवास की कहानी सुनते, उस दिन वहीं बसकर प्रातः रघुनाथ का स्मरण करके चल पड़े। राम के दर्शन की लालसा सबमें भरत के समान ही थी।

अपने गुणों सहित राम के गुणों की कथा सुनते और रघुनाथ का स्मरण करते वे चले जाते हैं। तीर्थ, मुनियों के आश्रम और देवताओं के धाम देखकर वे स्नान करते और प्रणाम करते हैं।
Hearing the tale of Rāma's virtues, together with their own, they went on remembering Raghunātha. Seeing holy places, sages' hermitages and abodes of the gods, they bathed and bowed.

२2मनहीं मन मागहिं बरु एहू। सीय राम पद पदुम सनेहू ॥मिलहिं किरात कोल बनबासी। बैखानस बटु जती उदासी ॥

मन ही मन वे यही वर माँगते हैं: सीता-राम के चरणकमलों में प्रेम। उन्हें किरात, कोल, वनवासी, वानप्रस्थ, ब्रह्मचारी, यति और उदासी मिलते हैं।

प्रणाम करके वे जिस-तिस से पूछते हैं, 'लक्ष्मण, राम और वैदेही किस वन में हैं?' वे लोग प्रभु का सब समाचार कहते हैं और भरत को देखकर जन्म का फल पाते हैं।
They bow and ask whoever they meet, 'In which forest are Lakṣmaṇa, Rāma and Vaidehī?' Those people tell all the Lord's news, and seeing Bharata gain the fruit of their birth.

४4जे जन कहहिं कुसल हम देखे। ते प्रिय राम लखन सम लेखे ॥एहि बिधि बूझत सबहि सुबानी। सुनत राम बनबास कहानी ॥
je jana kahahiṃ kusala hama dekhe te priya rāma lakhana sama lekhe |ehi bidhi būjhata sabahi subānī sunata rāma banabāsa kahānī ||

Those who say, 'We saw them well,' are held as dear as Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa. In this way they asked everyone kindly and heard the tale of Rāma's forest life.

दोहा २२४दोहा 224तेहि बासर बसि प्रातहीं चले सुमिरि रघुनाथ।राम दरस की लालसा भरत सरिस सब साथ ॥ २२४ ॥
tehi bāsara basi prātahīṃ cale sumiri raghunātha |rāma darasa kī lālasā bharata sarisa saba sātha ||

उस दिन वहीं बसकर प्रातः रघुनाथ का स्मरण करते वे चल पड़े। राम के दर्शन की लालसा सबमें भरत के समान ही थी।
They stayed that day and set out at dawn, remembering Raghunātha. The longing to see Rāma was the same in all of them as in Bharata.
