Chapter 211·Bharata speaks of his grief·Verses 1–
Bharata says that before the assembly of sages and the king of holy places, any made-up word is the worst sin. He tells the sage, who knows all, that Rāma knows his heart. He does not grieve over his mother's deed or that the world will think him low. He has no fear for the next world, and no sorrow at his father's death, since the king left the world filled with good deeds and fame and had sons like Lakṣmaṇa and Rāma. What place has grief for a king who gave up his body in separation from Rāma? What pains him is that Rāma, Lakṣmaṇa and Sītā wander barefoot in the forest as sages, in deerskin and bark, eating fruit, sleeping on kuśa grass and leaves, and bearing cold, sun, rain and wind.

In the company of sages and at the king of holy places, even a true oath piles up fault; and if one says anything made up in this place, there is no sin greater or lower than that.
Verse 2

You know everything, and I tell the truth; Raghurāī knows every heart. I do not worry over my mother's deed, nor does it pain me that the world will think me low.
Verse 3

I have no fear that the next world will be spoiled, nor sorrow for my father's death. His good deeds and fame filled the lovely world, and he had sons like Lakṣmaṇa and Rāma.

He gave up his fleeting body in separation from Rāma; what room is there for grief over a king like that? But Rāma, Lakṣmaṇa and Sītā, without sandals on their feet, wander the forest in the dress of sages.
