Chapter 206·Bharata at Bharadvāja's hermitage·Verses 1–
The dwellers of Prayāga, hermits, students, householders and renunciants, are glad and say among themselves that Bharata's love and character are pure and true. Hearing of Rāma's lovely virtues, Bharata comes to the great sage Bharadvāja, who sees him bow flat on the ground and counts him as his own good fortune in bodily form. He lifts him up, embraces him and blesses him. Bharata sits shyly, as if wishing to slip away into a house. Seeing his modesty, the sage speaks: fate cannot be resisted, so do not grieve over your mother's deed. Kaikeyī is not to blame; her mind was seized when the goddess of speech fell on her tongue.
