Chapter 174·Keep your father's word·Verses 1–
Vasiṣṭha says the king was fortunate in every way, so grief for him is vain. Hearing this and understanding it, Bharata should give up worry and take the king's order on his head and rule. The king gave him the throne, and his father's word must be made true. For the sake of his word the king gave up Rāma and then gave up his body in the fire of parting. Word was dear to the king, not life: so Bharata should make his father's word good, and it will be well for him in every way. Paraśurāma kept his father's order and killed his mother, with all the world as witness. Yayāti's son gave his youth to his father, and obeying a father's order brought no sin and no shame. Those who obey their father's words without weighing right and wrong are vessels of happiness and good fame and live in Indra's house.
