Chapter 151 · Rāma's message to his father · Verses 1–

Sumantra goes on with his report. Guha served them well and the night passed at Śṛṅgaverapura. At dawn Rāma had banyan milk fetched and made matted hair for his head. His friend brought a boat, and Rāma helped Sītā on and then boarded; Lakṣmaṇa set bow and arrows and boarded with leave. Seeing the minister in distress, Rāma spoke sweet words with courage. He sent his salutations to his father and asked that no one worry: on the forest road all is well because of his elders' grace. He promised to come back safe after keeping the order, console the mothers, and see his father's feet again. He asked the minister to do what keeps the king of Kosala well. In the closing soraṭhā he asks that his word be given to the guru, who should teach the king not to worry for him.
