Chapter 132·The hill of Citrakūṭa·Verses 1–
After showing Rāma where such a home is, Vālmīki speaks lovingly, and Rāma is pleased. He tells Rāma that the time is right to choose a hermitage. He advises him to live on the hill of Citrakūṭa, where he will be comfortable in every way. The hill and its woods are lovely, with elephants, lions, deer and birds. The holy river Mandākinī flows there, brought down by Atri's wife through the strength of her penance. Many sages such as Atri live there, so the sages ask Rāma to give honour to the hill. The sage praises Citrakūṭa at length, and Rāma, Sītā and Lakṣmaṇa come and bathe in the river.
