Ever since Rāma came home married, Ayodhyā has had new joy every day. The three worlds are like great mountains raining happiness, and wealth and success flow like rivers into the sea of Ayodhyā. Every person in the city is happy, looking at Rāma's moon-like face. The queens see their wishes bearing fruit, and King Daśaratha is glad at Rāma's beauty and nature. In every heart is one wish: that the king, while he lives, should give Rāma the post of heir.
