From the day Rāma settles there, the sages are happy and fearless, and hills, forest, rivers and ponds shine. Birds and deer are glad, bees hum, and the king of snakes could not describe the forest where Rāma lives. One day, as the Lord sits at ease, Lakṣmaṇa speaks plainly. He asks Rāma, lord of gods, men, sages and all creatures, to explain to him what he should know, so that he can leave everything and serve the dust of his feet. He asks about knowledge, detachment, māyā and devotion, and about the difference between God and the soul, so that sorrow, delusion and error may end and love for Rāma's feet may come.

Birds and deer lived in joy, and bees hummed sweetly and found beauty. Not even the king of serpents could describe that forest, where Raghuvīra himself shines.
