The speaker says first worship the Guru and Ganapati, then do a path of, or at least remember, Bhagwan Surya Narayan together with Shani's mother Chhaya; after remembering both, recite the mala mantra. The mantra comes with a Viniyoga and Nyasa: men who wear the Yajnopavita do them before the japa, while women, boys whose yajnopavit has not yet happened, and men who do not wear it skip them and recite the mala mantra directly.
