Durga Saptashati shaap vimochan mantra according to the Marichi Kalpa
One mala before the Devi Kavach, at the start only
The speaker gives a second method of utkilan (unlocking) for the Durga Saptashati: the shaap vimochan (release-from-curse) mantra according to the Marichi Kalpa, shown in writing on screen, japped one Mala of 108 times before the Devi Kavach, and only at the beginning of the path, never again at its end. He also says utkilan is not to be done after the Navarna japa that comes before the first adhyaya. He restricts this method to Shakta-initiated sadhaks who have their guru's permission.
Having shown one method of utkilan (unlocking) of the Durga Saptashati in an earlier video, the speaker gives a second. It is written on screen: according to the Marichi Kalpa, this is the Saptashati shaap vimochan mantra. The mantra itself is shown on screen, not read aloud. How much and when: one Mala, that is 108 japa. It is done before the Devi Kavach. He stresses that utkilan is not to be used after the Navarna mantra japa that comes before the first adhyaya. It is repeatedly said, he notes, that the Saptashati has six angas and that some japa is done both before and after those angas; but this mantra is done only at the beginning and is not japped afterwards, and he says this is written in the text too. Who may do it: only a Shakta-initiated (ShaktaBelonging to the stream that takes the Goddess as the supreme principle. Diksha) sadhak who has received the permission of the Guru, as he explains at length in the same video; he says women and the uninitiated should not do it.
Who may do Durga Saptashati utkilan, and the danger for the uninitiated
An unlocked kul shakti must be satisfied
The speaker says the utkilan (unlocking) mantras of the Durga Saptashati — both the Marichi Kalpa shaap vimochan method and the earlier three-mantra method (mrita sanjivani utkilan, shaap anugraha and the like) — should be done only by a Shakta-initiated sadhak with the Guru's permission, or by men who wear the Yajnopavita and are initiated; a woman only together with her husband, or if guru kripa has come to her. Utkilan also unlocks the devi or Yogini worshipped in one's family line, who receives the fruit of the path and carries it to Bhagavati. If the uninitiated or women do it on their own, there is a chance — not 100 percent — that this unlocked Kul Shakti troubles them, with Uchchatan-like restlessness, because whoever unlocks must know how to satisfy her with archana and tarpan, which only the guru parampara teaches.
The speaker raises the question whether women should jap the utkilan (unlocking) mantras of the Durga Saptashati. His answer: do the utkilan mantra japa only if you are ShaktaBelonging to the stream that takes the Goddess as the supreme principle.-initiated and have received permission from the Guru. Men who do it wearing the YajnopavitaThe sacred thread ceremony marking initiation into Vedic rites (Janeu) — if lapsed across generations, expiation (Prayashchitta) for each known generation is required before it can be resumed. and so on may do it. His reason: after utkilan, if a devi or a Yogini is worshipped in your kul parampara and has her place there, she too becomes unlocked, because it is she who receives the fruit of all the puja and path and carries that puja to Bhagavati. If someone does these mantras without adhikara — not Shakta-initiated, without the guru's permission — there is a chance, not 100 percent, that the unlocked Kul Shakti of the family line may trouble them. A state like Uchchatan can arise: you feel someone is calling you here and there again and again. This happens because when you unlock something you must also know the method of satisfying it — how to do her archana and tarpan — and that whole method only your guru tells you, through the guru parampara. So, he says plainly, the uninitiated should not do this vidhi, and women should not either. He admits this is not found written as an authoritative text anywhere; if people argue and call him a fool for holding back devotion to Bhagavati, that is their wish. He is telling what he has seen and learned on this path under the guru's adesh, so that nothing untoward happens to anyone. What should be done: both the first method he gave earlier and this second method should be used by initiated Shakta sadhaks, or by anyone initiated whose janeu has been done; a woman together with her husband, or one who has received guru kripa. The three mantras of the earlier method — mrita sanjivani utkilan, the shaap anugraha mantra and the like — are likewise for the initiated only. Which mantras the uninitiated may use instead, he says, he will give in a separate video.
