अथैकादशोऽध्यायः
The frame briefly returns to the sages of Naimiṣa, who praise Sūta for the wondrous liṅga-origin story and ask him to relate the rite of Śiva-worship; Sūta traces its transmission — from Brahmā to Nārada, down through Kṛṣṇa, Upamanyu, Sanatkumāra and Vyāsa to himself — and then gives Brahmā's own detailed manual: the worshipper's dawn rising, purification and tooth-cleaning by varṇa, the bath and sandhyā, entry into the place of worship, installation of the liṅga (or of Śiva on an eight-petalled lotus/yantra), nyāsa, the elaborate bathing with the five products of the cow and manifold liquids, the offering of flowers, incense, lamps and food, the many named mantras and streams of water, the closing prayers, prostration and dismissal, and the great and manifold merit — eloquence, the end of sorrow and disease, the growth of good qualities like the waxing moon — promised to whoever worships thus daily.बाह्य ढाँचा संक्षेप में नैमिषारण्य के ऋषियों के पास लौटता है, जो अद्भुत लिंगोत्पत्ति कथा के लिये सूत जी की प्रशंसा करते हैं तथा उनसे शिवपूजा की विधि सुनाने का अनुरोध करते हैं; सूत जी इसकी परम्परा बताते हैं — ब्रह्मा से नारद तक, फिर कृष्ण, उपमन्यु, सनत्कुमार और व्यास होते हुए स्वयं तक — और फिर ब्रह्मा जी का ही विस्तृत विधान प्रस्तुत करते हैं: उपासक का प्रातःकाल उठना, वर्णानुसार शुद्धि और दन्तधावन, स्नान और सन्ध्या, पूजागृह में प्रवेश, लिंग की (या अष्टदल कमल/यन्त्र पर शिव की) स्थापना, न्यास, पंचगव्य और नाना द्रव्यों से विस्तृत स्नान, पुष्प-धूप-दीप-नैवेद्य का अर्पण, अनेक नामित मन्त्र और जलधाराएँ, समापन-प्रार्थना, प्रणाम और विसर्जन, तथा इस प्रकार नित्य पूजा करने वाले को वाक्पटुता, रोग-शोक की समाप्ति और चन्द्रमा की भाँति सद्गुणों की वृद्धि जैसे महान् एवं विविध पुण्य की प्रतिज्ञा।
