Nārada asks what happened next; Brahmā tells how, after Śiva and Brahmā departed, Dakṣa gave Kāma the maiden born of his own sweat, naming her Rati, as a wife fitting his qualities. Kāma, smitten at first sight, examines her at length in an elaborate head-to-foot portrait — her eyebrows outdoing his own bow, her face rivalling the moon, her limbs likened to lotus-stalks, coral and a golden altar — and takes her as his own, forgetting, in his joy, Brahmā's dreadful curse. The two marry amid great rejoicing, Dakṣa and Rati both delighted, and shine together like Hari and Lakṣmī.

Such was this Rati by name; Madana took hold of her, his eyes wide with joy, as [one might take hold of] Gaṅgā, born of the snow-mountain.
Noteमहादेवो here names Kāma, not Śiva — a stock epithet ("great god/lord") applied loosely here.

Kāma, dear one, out of the joy of the moment, did not then say anything to Dakṣa, having, in his infatuation, forgotten the dreadful curse given by Vidhi.

Kāma, having obtained the greatest joy, came to the destruction of all his sorrow; and Dakṣa's own daughter Rati too, having obtained Kāma, rejoiced greatly.

Thus the lord of Rati, exceedingly overcome with infatuation, took that Rati up into his very heart, as a seer of yoga takes hold of sacred knowledge; and Rati too, having obtained her foremost husband, shone forth, her face like the full moon, as Kamalā shines with Hari.
NoteThis closing verse is shown in a longer, non-anuṣṭubh metre (four longer pādas), as is customary for a chapter's final verse.
