Garuḍa says: you know all, you are beyond darkness, wise, gentle, straight in conduct, a home of knowledge, dispassion and realisation, and a dear servant of Raghunāyaka. Tell me plainly what is the reason you got this body, and where you found the lovely lake of Rāma's story, you who move in the sky. I heard from Śiva that you do not die even at the great dissolution. The Lord does not speak false, yet this too is a doubt in my mind. All beings in the world, snakes, men and gods, are food for Time, and the countless shells of creation are destroyed by Time, who is always hard to cross. Yet Time does not touch you: what is the cause, tell me, merciful one, is it the power of knowledge or of yoga? And, Lord, when I came to your hermitage my delusion and confusion fled: what is the cause of that? चर-अचर जीव, नाग, मनुष्य और देवता: हे नाथ, सारा जगत काल का भोजन है। अनगिनत अंड-कटाह का लय करने वाला काल सदा अति दुस्तर है।
Moving and unmoving beings, snakes, men and gods: all the world, lord, is food for Time. Time, who destroys countless shells of creation, is always hard to pass.
