Chapter 88·The joy of Ayodhyā·Verses 1–
Rāma says that death will never touch the crow, who should remember and worship him always. Bhuśuṇḍi cannot have enough of the Lord's nectar-words; his body thrills and his mind is glad. Only the mind and the ear know that happiness; the tongue cannot say it, and the eyes know the Lord's beauty but cannot tell it. Rāma then comforts him in many ways and begins again the child's play. He cries a little, makes his face dry, and looks at his mother, saying he is hungry. Seeing him, the mother runs up, speaks softly and takes him to her heart. She holds him in her lap and feeds him milk, singing of Raghupati's lovely deeds. The first soratha says the joy for which Śiva took up an ill-omened form is the joy in which the people of Ayodhyā are always sunk. The second says those who have had a little of it even once in a dream do not count even the joy of Brahman.

Death will never touch you; remember me and worship me without ceasing. I never tire of hearing the Lord's nectar words; my body thrilled and my mind was very glad.

That happiness is known by the mind and the ears; the tongue cannot tell it. The eyes know the Lord's beauty and joy, but how can they say it, they have no speech?

Giving me comfort in many ways, the Lord then began again the same child's play. With tears in his eyes and his face a little dry, he looked at his mother, very hungry.

Seeing him, the mother ran up in haste, speaking soft words and taking him to her heart. She set him in her lap, gave him milk to drink, and sang the lovely deeds of Raghupati.

Those who once in a dream gained even a tiny part of that happiness do not count even the joy of Brahman, lord of the birds, those good people of fine mind.
