Chapter 85·The boon is granted·Verses 1–
Rāma, lord of the Raghus, said "so be it", and spoke words of great joy: Listen, crow, you are wise by nature; why would you not ask for a boon like this? You have asked for devotion, the mine of all happiness; no one in the world is as fortunate as you. It is what sages do not get in a million tries, and those who burn their bodies in yoga and fire do not get. Rāma was pleased at the crow's cleverness, because he asked for devotion, which is dear to him. By his grace all good qualities will live in Bhuśuṇḍi's heart: devotion, wisdom, realisation, dispassion, the ways and mysteries of yoga. He will know the difference of everything, by Rāma's grace and without the effort of practice. Illusion born of Māyā will no longer trouble him. He will know Rāma as the beginningless, unborn, without qualities and the mine of qualities. Devotees are always dear to him, so Bhuśuṇḍi should keep unmoving love for his feet in body, speech and mind.
