रामकथा का संक्षेप
The speaker begins to tell the story of Rāma in brief, in the order it happened. He speaks of the holiness of Daṇḍaka forest and the friendship with the vulture, Rāma's stay at Pañcavaṭī, and how he ended the fear of the sages. Then come Lakṣmaṇa's teaching, Śūrpaṇakhā's disfigurement, the killing of Khara and Dūṣaṇa, and how Rāvaṇa learned of it. The talk with Mārīca, the stealing of Sītā and Rāma's grief follow. The two dohās carry on to Nārada, Hanumān, Sugrīva's friendship, Vālī's death, Sugrīva's crowning, the rainy season and Rāma's anger.वक्ता रामकथा को संक्षेप में, उसी क्रम से कहने लगता है जिस क्रम से वह हुई। वह दंडक वन की पवित्रता और गीध से मित्रता, पंचवटी में प्रभु के निवास और मुनियों का भय दूर करने की बात कहता है। फिर लक्ष्मण को दिया अनुपम उपदेश, शूर्पणखा का कुरूप होना, खर-दूषण का वध और रावण का सब भेद जानना आता है। रावण और मारीच की बातचीत, माया से सीता का हरण और श्रीरघुवीर का विरह भी कहा गया है। दोनों दोहे नारद, हनुमान से मिलन, सुग्रीव की मित्रता, बालि के वध, सुग्रीव के तिलक, वर्षा ऋतु और राम के क्रोध तक पहुँचते हैं।

उसने दंडक वन की पवित्रता कही और गीध की मित्रता भी गाई। फिर बताया कि प्रभु ने पंचवटी में निवास किया और सब मुनियों का भय मिटाया।
He told of the holiness of Daṇḍaka forest, and of the friendship with the vulture. Then he told how the Lord made his home at Pañcavaṭī and ended the fear of all the sages.

फिर लक्ष्मण का अनुपम उपदेश कहा और यह कि शूर्पणखा को कैसे कुरूप किया गया। फिर खर-दूषण का वध बताया और यह कि रावण को सब भेद कैसे मालूम हुआ।
Then he told of Lakṣmaṇa's matchless teaching, and how Śūrpaṇakhā was left ugly. Then the killing of Khara and Dūṣaṇa, and how Rāvaṇa came to know all of it.

३3दसकंधर मारीच बतकहीं। जेहि बिधि भई सो सब तेहिं कही ॥पुनि माया सीता कर हरना। श्रीरघुबीर बिरह कछु बरना ॥

फिर कैसे प्रभु ने गीध की अन्त्येष्टि की, कबंध को मारा और शबरी को परम गति दी। फिर विरह का वर्णन करते हुए रघुवीर जिस प्रकार सरोवर के तट पर पहुँचे, वह कहा।
Then how the Lord performed the last rites for the vulture, killed Kabandha and gave Śabarī the highest state. Then how Rāma, speaking of his grief, came to the shore of the lake.
