Śiva says that Raghupati is not met without love, whatever yoga, penance, knowledge or detachment one does. In the north is a lovely blue hill where lives the good Kākabhuśuṇḍi, very skilled in the path of devotion to Rāma, wise, a house of virtue, and of a long age. He tells Rāma's story without pause, and many fine birds listen with respect. Go and hear Hari's many virtues, and your sorrow born of delusion will go. When Śiva had said all this, Garuda bowed at his feet and left glad. Śiva says, Umā, I did not explain it to him because I found the secret by Raghupati's grace: if one has ever been proud, the Lord of mercy wants to take it away, and also a bird understands a bird's language. The Lord's Maya is strong, Bhavānī; who is so wise that she does not delude him? The dohā says that even the one who carries the Lord of the three worlds, best of the wise and of devotees, is taken by delusion and Maya, while wretched men are proud; and who is another to resist when Śiva and Brahmā are deluded? So knowing, sages worship Maya's lord, the Blessed One.शिव कहते हैं: योग, तप, ज्ञान और वैराग्य करने पर भी रघुपति बिना प्रेम के नहीं मिलते। उत्तर दिशा में एक सुन्दर नील पर्वत है, वहाँ सुशील काकभुशुण्डि रहते हैं, जो राम की भक्ति के मार्ग में परम प्रवीण, ज्ञानी, गुणों के घर और बहुत काल के हैं। वे निरन्तर रामकथा कहते हैं और अनेक श्रेष्ठ पक्षी आदर से सुनते हैं। वहाँ जाकर हरि के बहुत गुण सुनो; मोह से उपजा तुम्हारा दुख दूर होगा। जब मैंने उसे यह सब समझाकर कहा तो वह मेरे चरणों में सिर नवाकर हर्ष से चल पड़ा। हे उमा, मैंने उसे स्वयं नहीं समझाया क्योंकि रघुपति की कृपा से मैंने मर्म पा लिया है: यदि कभी अभिमान किया हो तो कृपानिधान उसे खोना चाहते हैं; और मैंने इसलिए भी उसे अपने पास नहीं रखा कि पक्षी पक्षी की ही भाषा समझता है। हे भवानी, प्रभु की माया बलवान है, ऐसा कौन ज्ञानी है जिसे वह नहीं मोहती? दोहे में कहा गया है कि त्रिभुवन के पति के वाहन गरुड़, ज्ञानी और भक्तों के शिरोमणि को भी मोह और माया हो जाती है, और पाँवर मनुष्य गुमान करते हैं; जब शिव और ब्रह्मा को भी मोहती है तो और कौन बेचारा है? ऐसा जानकर मुनि माया के पति भगवान को भजते हैं।

जो राम की भक्ति के मार्ग में परम प्रवीण, ज्ञानी, गुणों के घर और बहुत काल के हैं। वे निरन्तर रामकथा कहते हैं और अनेक श्रेष्ठ पक्षी आदर से सुनते हैं।

वहाँ जाकर हरि के बहुत गुण सुनो, मोह से उपजा दुख दूर होगा।" जब मैंने उसे यह सब समझाकर कहा, तो वह मेरे चरणों में सिर नवाकर हर्ष से चल पड़ा।
Go there and hear Hari's many virtues, and the pain born of delusion will go." When I had explained all this to him, he bowed at my feet and left, glad.

Umā, I did not explain it to him myself, for I found the secret by Raghupati's grace: if one has ever been proud, the Lord of mercy wants to take it away.

५5कछु तेहि ते पुनि मैं नहिं राखा। समुझइ खग खगही कै भाषा ॥प्रभु माया बलवंत भवानी। जाहि न मोह कवन अस ग्यानी ॥

There was another reason too why I did not keep him: a bird understands only a bird's language. The Lord's Maya is strong, Bhavānī. Who is so wise as not to be deluded by it?

गरुड़ तो ज्ञानियों और भक्तों के शिरोमणि और त्रिभुवन के पति के वाहन हैं; उन्हें भी मोह और माया ने पकड़ा, फिर भी पाँवर मनुष्य गुमान करते हैं।
Garuda, the best of knowers and devotees, the very carrier of the lord of the three worlds: even he was taken by delusion and Maya, yet foolish men are proud.

जब शिव और ब्रह्मा को भी वह मोह लेती है तो दूसरा बेचारा कौन है? ऐसा मन में जानकर मुनि माया के पति भगवान को भजते हैं।
Who is any poor other when Śiva and Brahmā are deluded? Knowing this in their hearts, sages worship the Blessed Lord, the master of Maya.
