Śiva says he has told that whole history of the time he went to the bird. Now he tells why the king of birds went to the crow. When Raghunātha was playing at war, he is ashamed to think of it; Indrajit bound him, and Nārada sent Garuda. Garuda cut the bonds and went away, but a great grief rose in his heart. Thinking in many ways how the Lord was bound, the enemy of serpents considered: the all-pervading, spotless Lord of speech, beyond Maya and delusion, the Supreme Lord, whose coming I heard of in the world, I saw no such power in him. The dohā says that men are freed from the bonds of the world by chanting his name; yet a petty demon bound that very Rāma with the snake-noose.

By chanting his name men are freed from the bonds of the world; yet a petty demon bound that same Rāma with the snake-noose.
