पर हित सरिस धर्म
Rāma says there is no dharma like doing good to others, and no vice like causing others pain. This is the verdict of all the Purāṇas and Vedas, and the wise know it. Those who take a human body and give pain to others suffer the great fear of the world. In delusion men do many sins, set on self-interest and lose the other world. To them Rāma says he is Time, the giver of the fruit of good and bad deeds. Those who know it and are wise worship him, knowing the world's pain. They leave actions that give good or bad and worship him, as do gods, men and sages. The saint and the wicked are described; those who see this are not caught in the world. The dohā says that qualities and faults are made by Māyā; they are not seen in the self, and seeing them is the lack of discernment.राम कहते हैं: परोपकार के समान कोई धर्म नहीं और दूसरों को पीड़ा देने के समान कोई अधर्म नहीं। हे तात, यह सब पुराण और वेद का निर्णय है, जिसे ज्ञानी पुरुष जानते हैं। जो मनुष्य शरीर पाकर दूसरों को दुख देते हैं, वे संसार के बड़े भय को सहते हैं। मोह के वश मनुष्य बहुत पाप करते हैं और स्वार्थ में लगे रहकर परलोक नष्ट कर लेते हैं। हे भ्राता, मैं उनके लिए कालरूप हूँ, शुभ और अशुभ कर्मों का फल देने वाला। ऐसा सोचकर जो अत्यन्त चतुर हैं, वे संसार के दुख को जानकर मुझे भजते हैं। वे शुभ-अशुभ फल देने वाले कर्मों को त्याग देते हैं और देवता, मनुष्य और मुनियों के नायक मुझे भजते हैं। मैंने सन्त-असन्त के गुण कहे; जिन्होंने यह देख रखा, वे भव में नहीं गिरते। दोहे में कहा गया है कि हे तात, गुण और दोष माया से रचे हैं, ये दोनों आत्मा में दिखाई नहीं देते; इन्हें देखना ही अविवेक है।

हे भाई, परहित के समान कोई धर्म नहीं और दूसरों को पीड़ा देने के समान कोई अधमता नहीं। हे तात, मैंने सब पुराणों और वेदों का निर्णय कहा, जिसे ज्ञानी लोग जानते हैं।
Brother, there is no dharma like helping others, and no wickedness like giving others pain. I have told you the judgment of all the Purāṇas and Vedas, which the wise know.

२2नर सरीर धरि जे पर पीरा। करहिं ते सहहिं महा भव भीरा ॥करहिं मोह बस नर अघ नाना। स्वारथ रत परलोक नसाना ॥

जो मनुष्य शरीर धारण कर दूसरों को पीड़ा देते हैं, वे संसार का बड़ा भय सहते हैं। मोह के वश मनुष्य अनेक पाप करते हैं और स्वार्थ में लगे रहकर परलोक नष्ट कर लेते हैं।
Those who take a man's body and give pain to others endure the great fear of the world. In delusion men do many kinds of sin, set on their own gain, and ruin the world beyond.

३3कालरूप तिन्ह कहँ मैं भ्राता। सुभ अरु असुभ कर्म फल दाता ॥अस बिचारि जे परम सयाने। भजहिं मोहि संसृत दुख जाने ॥

हे भाई, उनके लिए मैं कालरूप हूँ, शुभ और अशुभ कर्मों का फल देने वाला। ऐसा विचार कर जो अत्यन्त चतुर हैं, वे संसार का दुख जानकर मुझे भजते हैं।
To them, brother, I am Time, the giver of the fruit of good and bad deeds. Thinking this, those who are very wise worship me, knowing the pain of the world.

४4त्यागहिं कर्म सुभासुभ दायक। भजहिं मोहि सुर नर मुनि नायक ॥संत असंतन्ह के गुन भाषे। ते न परहिं भव जिन्ह लखि राखे ॥
tyāgahiṃ karma subhāsubha dāyaka bhajahiṃ mohi sura nara muni nāyaka |saṃta asaṃtanha ke guna bhāṣe te na parahiṃ bhava jinha lakhi rākhe ||

They give up the actions that bring good and bad fruit and worship me, gods, men and sages' chief. I have told the signs of the good and wicked; those who have seen them well are not caught in the world.

दोहा ४१दोहा 41सुनहु तात माया कृत गुन अरु दोष अनेक।गुन यह उभय न देखिअहिं देखिअ सो अबिबेक ॥ ४१ ॥
sunahu tāta māyā kṛta guna aru doṣa aneka |guna yaha ubhaya na dekhiahiṃ dekhia so abibeka ||

हे तात, सुनो: गुण और दोष अनेक माया के रचे हुए हैं। ये दोनों आत्मा में दिखाई नहीं देते; इन्हें देखना ही अविवेक है।
