Rāma performs crores of horse-sacrifices and gives great gifts to the brahmins. He guards the Vedic way, bears the load of dharma, is beyond qualities and the best of enjoyers. Sītā is always at one with her husband, a home of beauty, gentle and humble. She knows the Lord's glory and serves his lotus feet with her mind. Though the house is full of servants skilled in service, she herself does the household work, following Rāma's wish. She knows how to please him. She serves Kausalyā and the other mothers-in-law without pride. She is Umā, Ramā and Brahmāṇī worshipped, mother of the world, praised without fault. The dohā says that the gods long for a glance of her mercy, yet she keeps her gaze at Rāma's feet.राम ने करोड़ों अश्वमेध यज्ञ किए और ब्राह्मणों को अनेक दान दिए। वे वेद-मार्ग के पालक, धर्म की धुरी, गुणातीत और भोगों में इन्द्र के समान हैं। सीता सदा पति के अनुकूल रहती हैं, शोभा की खान, सुशील और विनीत हैं। वे कृपासिंधु प्रभु की प्रभुता जानती हैं और मन लगाकर उनके चरण-कमलों की सेवा करती हैं। यद्यपि घर में बहुत से सेवक और सेविकाएँ हैं, जो सेवा-विधि में कुशल हैं, फिर भी वे अपने हाथ से घर का काम करती हैं और राम की आज्ञा का पालन करती हैं। जिस विधि से कृपासागर राम सुख मानते हैं, लक्ष्मी रूप सीता वही सेवा-विधि जानती हैं। वे कौसल्या आदि सासुओं की भी बिना मान और मद के सेवा करती हैं। वे उमा, रमा और ब्रह्माणी आदि से वन्दित, जगदम्बा और सदा निन्दा-रहित हैं। दोहे में कहा गया है कि देवता जिनकी कृपा-दृष्टि चाहते हैं, पर वे उनकी ओर देखती भी नहीं, और राम के चरण-कमलों में प्रीति रखती हुई अपना स्वभाव (ऐश्वर्य) खो देती हैं।

यद्यपि घर में बहुत-से सेवक और सेविकाएँ थीं, जो सेवा की सब विधियों में कुशल थीं, फिर भी वे अपने हाथों से घर का काम करती थीं और रामचन्द्र की आज्ञा के अनुसार चलती थीं।
Though the house was full of servants and maids, all skilled in the ways of service, she did the household work with her own hands, following Rāmacandra's wish.

जिस प्रकार कृपासिंधु सुख मानते, श्री वही सेवा-विधि जानती थीं और वही करती थीं। वे घर में कौसल्या आदि सासुओं की भी बिना मान-मद के सेवा करती थीं।
Whatever way the ocean of mercy found pleasing, Śrī knew that way of service and did it. She served Kausalyā and the other mothers-in-law in the house too, with no trace of pride.
