राम कथा
Kākabhuśuṇḍi tells Garuda that this holy story takes away the three pains and the fear of the world, and that those who hear Rāma's anointing gain detachment and discernment. Those who hear it with desire gain wealth and in the end go to Rāma's city; those free and detached gain devotion. He says he told the story as his own mind's play, which takes away fear and grief. It makes detachment, discernment and devotion firm, and is a boat across the river of delusion. In Kosalapura each day brings new joy, and the people always love Rāma's feet. Beggars are given many gifts and the brahmins many kinds of gifts. The monkeys, sunk in the bliss of Brahman, do not notice six months go by.काकभुशुण्डि गरुड़ से कहते हैं कि यह पावन कथा तीनों ताप और भव के भय को दूर करती है, और महाराज के शुभ अभिषेक को सुनकर लोग वैराग्य और विवेक पाते हैं। जो सकाम होकर सुनते या गाते हैं, वे नाना सुख-सम्पत्ति पाते हैं और अन्त में रघुपति के नगर जाते हैं; जो मुक्त, विरक्त और विषयी सुनते हैं, वे भक्ति और नई गति पाते हैं। यह कथा मेरी अपनी बुद्धि के विलास से कही गई है, जो त्रास और दुख हरती है। यह वैराग्य, विवेक और भक्ति को दृढ़ करती है और मोह रूपी नदी के लिए सुन्दर नाव है। कोसलपुरी में नित नया मंगल रहता है और सब लोग हर्षित रहते हैं। सबको राम के चरण-कमलों में नित नई प्रीति है। याचकों को बहुत प्रकार से वस्त्र-आभूषण दिए गए और ब्राह्मणों ने नाना प्रकार के दान पाए। ब्रह्मानन्द में मग्न सब वानर प्रभु के चरणों की प्रीति में छह महीने बीत जाने का पता भी नहीं पाते।
१1सुनु खगपति यह कथा पावनी। त्रिबिध ताप भव भय दावनी ॥महाराज कर सुभ अभिषेका। सुनत लहहिं नर बिरति बिबेका ॥

हे खगपति, सुनो: यह पवित्र कथा तीनों प्रकार के ताप और संसार के भय को हरती है। महाराज के शुभ राज्याभिषेक को सुनकर लोग वैराग्य और विवेक पाते हैं।

२2जे सकाम नर सुनहिं जे गावहिं। सुख संपति नाना बिधि पावहिं ॥सुर दुर्लभ सुख करि जग माहीं। अंतकाल रघुपति पुर जाहीं ॥

जो इच्छा रखकर इसे सुनते और गाते हैं, वे अनेक प्रकार के सुख और सम्पत्ति पाते हैं। संसार में देवताओं को भी दुर्लभ सुख भोगकर अन्त में रघुपति के नगर को जाते हैं।
Those who hear and sing it for their wishes gain many kinds of wealth and ease. After enjoying joys in the world that even gods may long for, at the end they go to Raghupati's city.

३3सुनहिं बिमुक्त बिरत अरु बिषई। लहहिं भगति गति संपति नई ॥खगपति राम कथा मैं बरनी। स्वमति बिलास त्रास दुख हरनी ॥

यह वैराग्य, विवेक और भक्ति को दृढ़ करती है और मोह रूपी नदी के पार जाने के लिए सुन्दर नाव है। कोसलपुरी में नित नया मंगल रहता है, सब लोग प्रसन्न रहते हैं।
It makes detachment, discernment and devotion strong, and is a fair boat across the river of delusion. In Kosalapuri every day brings new joy, and all the people stay glad.

सबकी राम के चरण-कमलों में नित नई प्रीति है, जिन्हें शिव, मुनि और ब्रह्मा प्रणाम करते हैं। याचकों को बहुत प्रकार के वस्त्र-आभूषण पहनाए गए और ब्राह्मणों ने नाना प्रकार के दान पाए।
Everyone has a love, new every day, for Rāma's lotus feet, which Śiva, the sages and Brahmā bow to. Beggars were given many dresses and gifts, and the brahmins received gifts of many kinds.

दोहा १५दोहा 15ब्रह्मानंद मगन कपि सब कें प्रभु पद प्रीति।जात न जाने दिवस तिन्ह गए मास षट बीति ॥ १५ ॥
brahmānaṃda magana kapi saba keṃ prabhu pada prīti |jāta na jāne divasa tinha gae māsa ṣaṭa bīti ||

ब्रह्मानन्द में मग्न सब वानरों को प्रभु के चरणों में प्रीति थी; उन्होंने दिनों के बीतने का पता न पाया। छह महीने बीत गए।
The monkeys, lost in the bliss of Brahman and in love for the Lord's feet, did not notice the days pass. Six months went by.
