The path of knowledge is like a sword's edge; one may fall in no time. Whoever goes through without hindrance reaches the highest state, freedom. That state is very hard to gain, as the saints, Purāṇas, Vedas and Āgamas say. But for one who worships Rāma, freedom comes unasked, by force. As land cannot stay without water however one tries, so the joy of liberation cannot stay without devotion to Hari. Knowing this, wise devotees of Hari scorn liberation and are drawn to devotion. By devotion, without trouble or effort, the root of the world, ignorance, is destroyed. Eating a meal is for satisfaction, and the stomach's fire digests it; so is devotion to Hari, easy and joyous. Who is such a fool that it does not please him? The dohās say that without being servant and master one does not cross the world; so ponder this conclusion and worship Rāma's lotus feet. Blessed are those souls who worship the Lord of the Raghus, able to make the aware dull and the dull aware.ज्ञान का मार्ग तलवार की धार है; इस पर गिरते देर नहीं लगती। जो निर्विघ्न इसे पार कर लेता है, वह कैवल्य परम पद पाता है। वह परम पद अति दुर्लभ है, ऐसा संत, पुराण, वेद और आगम कहते हैं। पर राम को भजने वाले को वह मुक्ति बिना माँगे, बलपूर्वक आ जाती है। जैसे बिना जल के भूमि पर कोई कितना भी उपाय करे, ठहर नहीं सकता, वैसे मोक्ष का सुख भी हरि-भक्ति को छोड़कर नहीं ठहर सकता। ऐसा विचार करके चतुर हरि-भक्त मुक्ति का निरादर करते हैं और भक्ति पर रीझते हैं। भक्ति करने से बिना यत्न और श्रम के संसार की जड़ अविद्या नष्ट हो जाती है। जैसे भोजन तृप्ति के लिए किया जाता है और जठराग्नि उसे अपने आप पचा देती है; वैसी ही हरि-भक्ति सुगम और सुखदायी है। ऐसा मूढ़ कौन है जिसे यह न सुहाए? दोहे: सेवक-सेव्य भाव के बिना भव नहीं तरा जाता; ऐसा सिद्धांत विचारकर राम के चरण-कमल भजो। जो चेतन को जड़ और जड़ को चेतन कर दे, ऐसे समर्थ रघुनायक को जो जीव भजते हैं, वे धन्य हैं।
